Anyone else pissed abput seat belt?

If it was not so much fun to drive, I would junk it over the drivers seat belt.
I get into the car, close the door, and then try to retrieve the seat belt from behind the seat. The buckle wont pass between the seat and the closed door. So I have to open the door and get the d---ed seat belt. By then I am so pissed off I dont want to go for a drive.I am too old to learn to fasten the seat belt before closing the door. It isnt logical and I am OCD.

Was trying to see if the Sky has different body panels than the Solstice. Then found this solution:

Seat Belt Mods and Red GXP Inlay Logo - Pontiac Solstice Forum

I wonder if there is a way to achieve the same thing without needed to re-cover the seats.

You and I are old...we were not brought up with seat belts. I NEVER wear mine, in either car. Just the way it is.

I just always make sure my seatbelt is out from behind the seat before I get in the car. It's annoying if you forget and have it trapped back there though, I understand that. Worse is it usually happens on the passenger side because they don't know about it...then, after you're moving, you hear "I can't find the seat belt..." LOL

JPM made seatbelt retainer loops that you could add to the side of the seat to retain the belt and prevent it falling behind the seat as you describe. They are very easy to make. Give it a try.

I have my frustrations with the car, but the seat belt is WAY down that list...

Has the door sill liner popped up and scratched the door?
Are my fingernails long enough to scratch the radio?
Has the water pump failed?
Did the door handle pull off in my hand?
Is the cup holder broken...again?
Is it throwing a code because of the cheap clamps on the outlet side of the charge air cooler?
Is it throwing a code because the voltage regulator has failed?
Is it in limp mode again for some unknown reason?
How rusty are the hubs and calipers because of the defective coating?
Has the ignition switch come apart leaving the steering wheel locked in place?
Is the passenger airbag connector broken?
Did the dealer break my fenders again?
It's impossible to adjust the recline setting with the door open.
A whole bunch of things I'm not remembering right now.
.
.
.
.
The seat belt is hard to reach.

Solution is simple (and cheaper than other options above). Just go to your locals auto parts store and pick up a pack of seat belt stops/buttons. Clamp them together through the cross-hatch stitching on the seat belt - with the buckle above them, of course. The buckle will not slip down - making it easier to reach - and that will keep the belt from slipping behind the seat too.

Guess these are the only two I have experienced.

I hope it stays that way for you

I picked mine up at Saturn of Capitol Expressway in San Jose ten years ago this August and have driven almost all of its 25,000 miles. I also show it, so there are things that are important to me that might not be to others, such as...

- Has the passenger airbag cover faded to gray while the rest of the dash is black?
- Are the flimsy plastic wheel well liners cracked...again?

I bought mine a year ago with 90K. A dolop of JB Weld fixed the door handle, like new. Still no cup holder....way over priced from GM

Don't waste your money- I'm on my third, which is partially broken, and use them rarely and always gently. Just a horrible, BS design.

I've learned to put the seatbelt on before I close the door. Minor annoyance.
