Audio Problems :(

I just bought some Kappa 60.9 for the front doors, they came with tweeters, but my question is, is the stock amp good enough to push these 6.5's? or will i need to upgrade the amp as well?

I installed them in the passenger side so i could do a "balance" comparison and the stock kinda sound better...i dont get it. What could i be doing wrong. The kappas have almost no base even when i crank them up its mostly highs coming from the tweeter, the 6 1/2 in the doors is barely making noise.

PS: i left the stock tweeter plugged in i wonder if this is the problem.

If you wish to add an amp...install the cobalt usb radio...it has a built in amp..of course your door chimes and direction sound will increase...that is a solution if u wish.

I already installed a JVC KW-AV50 i dont understand why I can barely hear the new speaker, im gonna try disconnecting the stock tweeter and see if that works

Keep in mind that the front speakers on our cars with the Monsoon are two ohms. If you use anything else it's not gonna work right.

OR could possibly damage those speakers that are not ohmed correctly.. or matched correctly with an existing or new amp/system..

I've heard of being 'amped' but not of getting 'ohmed'.....or maybe I'm just being unduly resistant?

Wow i didnt know they were 2ohms, i thought it was a 4ohm system

I think the infinity Kappa 60.9 are 2ohm. What i did was disconnect the stock tweeter and connect the after market tweeter there, then I did the same for the 6.5 in the door. it sounds better now but the speakers came with some weird cross over thingy, when I wired that in it sounded crappy so i got rid of that as well

I think most automotive audio is 4 ohm. Installing the incorrect components WILL make a difference,

Yeah, 2 ohm for the front speakers but The Kappa's are 2 ohm. You shouldn't have spare parts though when you install them.
