Automatically Drop the Windows - Interest?

My question is.....

How many people would be interested in a plug-n-play product where you could remotely lower both windows using your existing key fob?

There are several additional things that could be done (capture high speed setting, configure accessory power, configure power door locking, etc.)

That would be great if you walk up and want to just put the top down. If the install wasn't to crazy or cutting into anyhing factory I would like that!!!

How about keyless operation like Corvettes? All you have to have is the key in your pocket, doors unlock on approach, pushbutton start up, door's automatically lock when you walk away No messin' with a key

What I would really like is a key fob that had , in addition to the locks and trunk release and Automatic rofflatch release and window roll down. That would allow you to manually put the top down without getting in and out of the car.

Additionally when youput the top up a motorized roof latch tightener simialr to someof the car trunks that pull themselves shut. Allowing you to put the top up without getting in and out of the car.

I'd really like a way to have the accessory plug (saturn's term for the cigarette lighter) run off accessory power! I wish it would stop supplying power when the car's power is off. I know that the car supposedly has battery run-down protection, but I don't want my devices to stay powered on when the car is off.

If some device would allow me to reprogram the car to do this, count me in on one!

I''ll buy the first one. Make it work both ways and include auto-up, and I'll be your best friend for at least 24 hours.

this option is already available. you can got any local car remote starter shop to get it installed. they could do many other options as well.

So unless it could use combinations of buttons then presumably every time you pushed the trunk release the windows would drop? Same should go for the one in the glove box. Or maybe only set the glove box button to also drop the windows. I would go for that. Hardly ever get in the trunk unless the top is going up or down as I don't like to park it without putting the top up. Since you seem to be talking about a reprogramming capability then a lot of other things can be done as you say. What buttons could be programmed for what functions? Sounds like a great gadget.

To use the factory remote, it would be a module that responds to a series of button presses. Some aftermarket remote start systems work that way- when the car is locked, you press lock, then unlock, then lock again each about a second apart and the engine starts. It needs to be something you have to be very conscious of doing so you don't accidentally open the windows in a rainstorm or leave it wide open while parked in public.

Don't forget to order a remote module to push the clutch pedal down to the floor, too.

....bad news.....

Well, I contacted the {non-supporting vendor} that has this product for the C5 and C6 Corvettes as a plug-n-play module. Now the bad news.....

The new CAN-BUS network architecture in the car will have to be fully analyzed to see if this is even possible. As it sits right now, the body control module receives the door unlock signal from the key fob and unlocks the doors BUT does not send a signal through the rest of the network..... so nothing could be "grabbed" as a trigger to send out other commands without additional wiring.

Anyway, I pointed the designer to this website and the Solstice Forum and maybe they can come up with something.
