BMW Club Reaction to Sky

I have been a member of the BMW Club for about 9 years and recently when on a tour with them to Crater Lake. The best apart of the tour was when the person who was leading the tour mentioned that we would be stopping to have some other cars join the group and that apparently someone's car (BMW?) was broken down so they were bringing a "Saturn".

As he was standing next to me in front of my Sky, I mentioned that the person that was bringing a Saturn was me. He said, "Where is it? I didn't see a Saturn." I told him he was standing next to it. When he looked at my Sky he couldn't talk for another 45 seconds. Then everybody wanted to see under the hood, look in the trunk, etc, etc. They were very amazed and surprised at it's appearance and equally impressed that it performed as well as their cars on the drive. I have to admit that the M6 was substantially faster, but didn't get as much attention as the Sky.

Attached are a couple of pictures from the drive to Crater Lake. I couldn't resist documenting one of the BMW owners taking a picture of the "foreign car" in the lineup.

I don't recommend getting so close to the edge of the lake. I haven't seen my wife since she got out of the car.

Great story. I love it when people under estimate the SKY. I was coming back from a day trip with my RL when an M3 passed me. When we got to the next light I think he was upset that he couldn't shake me when he took off.

Thanks for the kind words.

My wife actually made it home so that we could go on the drive around Mt Rainier this past weekend.

Rainier Loop -- August 4th 07

There are a few pictures in that thread too. It was also a great drive.
