Bought Sept 1st Smashed Oct 1st

My brand new Chilli Pepper Red Sky I bought on Sept 1st was rearended on Oct. 1st at a stoplight by a truck full of illegals from south of the border Still had my 30 day tags on it: Needless to say it was a hit and run. Almost 3 weeks later the dealership cant get parts or part numbers I am getting very upset. Any one else had any problems getting parts or ordering them

First welcome aboard.
Second -- I am sorry to hear about your SKY!

There have been a few forum members involved in accidents. Parts are available - in fact, many have had parts within 1-2 weeks.
I am sure others will now join in and help out!

South of the Border?

Did you have insurance in Mexico? Gawd, I hope so.
p.s. they aren't illegal south of the border.

Damn that sucks! I hope all goes well. But what were you doing driving your Sky in Mexico? That was just asking for trouble. Being of Dominican and Puerto Rican descent myself and having been to many Caribbean countries, I would be terrified to drive any vehicle, much less my beloved Sky, in those countries. They drive like maniacs there lol! Hell people on this board think I'm crazy because I've driven my Sky to Brooklyn a couple of times!

Sorry to hear about your crash...

It could have been a carload of US college students sneaking over to buy steroids and pot. That would make them illegal no? Or are we talking Canada? In that case it would be pot only, and maybe precription meds, and instead of college kids, its grannies and granpas looking for their meds. or wait....people avoiding deployment to Iraq...

(of course that the most ludicris idea I have ever had)

either way, that sucks..best of luck getting your car fixed.

Did your insurance cover you in Mexico?

Love buying all the cool stuff we can't have in the US down there, Cuban cigars, R12 freon, fireworks, cheap Don Julio and cheap lobster, but I hate driving down there, I would NEVER take my good cars down there.

I don't want to be ornery but, I drive in mexico all the time. And can tell you that while they drive in a different style than we do here in the states, my humble opinion is that they actually are safer drivers then those I see up here.

Not sure I would drive a sky down there though, they have a tendancy to put speed bumps everywhere, and I don't think the Sky would like that very much.

I'm very sorry to hear this, my friend. I thought I read somewhere here that parts can be expedited from the plant for cases like this?

Actually, you're a tourist. You're not an immigrant unless you become a permanent resident.

Perhaps he meant "south of the border" as a description of the illegals(stating their origin)I know sometimes when I post I missword things like that.

This is not going to help but my car came delivered with a cracked rear tail light and it took two months to be delivered and less than fifteen minutes to be replaced.
