Broken front screen....

I don't know if i am in the right topic, if not please someone move it to the right.
So i was going on a trip and in the way i saw in the front screen in the passengers side a line about 30 cm long (now it's gone 40 cm)....Something hit it, maybe a stone while i was driving and it made a crac that long.
So the next day i took the car to the dealer and they made the οrder....Guess what, the factory does not produce this spare part as itself and it has to be made as a special order for the production of it. They told me at the dealership that it is possible to wait for months for the new screen to come....
This is what happens when you get to have something collective....not many have it because our cars are limited production....ok, that's the good thing, but when it comes to a spare part then what?I have to wait for a life to get it? Now i am forced to drive with a crac on my face for the rest of the summer till the new part comes....Why is that? Why does the factory in America don't have ready made parts to send, and there has to be made a special order first and then produce it?Is there a way to get the screen to Greece earlier? Please help and thanks for your patience....

Sorry to ask but why is it under warranty? It's not GM's fault, at mine something like a stone cracked it, it has nothing to do with defectiveness....Is it possible to be a structure problem?

Checked with my local glass place and they had the new one there the next morning. Insurance covered it after the $250.00 deductible. Mine was from a rock that hit and busted it in 3 directions. I thought it was because I parked next to Seal9 when his S/C kicked in and caused his and mine to crack

Mine cracked due to body flex....not a rock....the regional GM tech said that it was a faulty window and I had not added enough HP or torque to have cracked the window....seal9

From what i understand there is a problem with our screens? Are they so sensitive? Because as many years i am driving it's the first time this happens, is it possible for me to force them replace it under warrenty?
And another favor please, can someone give GM's phone number, or p.m. it to me as to find out myself if there are any screens available, because the dealer here doesn't seem to try hard enough....How can i contact with GM?
Thanks once again!

Try Constantinos Chronopoulos (+30) 210 6164735 direct line or Customer service number: (+30) 210 6164700.

Hopefully this helps you.

I have already tried this number but still waiting, dealerships here don't know much about that car and they have nothing more to do but wait, what i wanna find out is if what they said is true? That screens have to be ordered first from America (GM), then be produced, and then be shipped to Europe and then Greece, that's what they told me. They don't even have a single spare part of our car here, everything have to be ordered first...So i'll have to ride all summer with a cracked screen, how is that possible? That's the reason why i want the number of GM-America, as to make sure myself that all what i've heard is true and they are not fooling me....Why do i have to wait months for 1 front screen? Would you wait that long? I'm going desperate, loosing my patience.... cannot watch my car like that....
Thanks once again....

Do you have an Opel or a Saturn? Believe it or not, they actually have different windshields.

Remember, Seal9 and 2Sky4 had different situations. Seal9's cracked because of body flex, not an accident. Therefore the dealer covered it under warranty. 2Sky4's car was hit by a rock or stone and is considered an accident and was not covered by warranty.

Yeah i know, mine is considered an accident....Anyway even if it's under warranty he still had his shield replaced in 4 days, so that means there are windshields available why don't they send some in Europe, and instead there has to be a production of otherones and then be sent to Europe?
Thanks Gary!

I hear the Opel windshield is thicker.

There are several other differences other than badging. Tires. Backup lamp. Tail lamps. Center brake lamp. Side vent accents. Headlamp bezel. Speedo.
