Can you get a remote for the stereo?

Just out of curiosity of course, thinking ahead for the summer.

You're at the baseball game, tailgating in the parking lot listening to music, "dude, i love that song, turn it up!", then i have to get up off my chair, and go to the car and turn up the volume, when i could just point at it with my sweet remote control and do it from my comfy chair.

How are you gonna get your comfy chair to the tailgate party in your Sky?

I don't think you can get a remote

Even if you COULD, a lot of the time it's difficult to control the radio from a long distance do to the sun. I had a Pioneer head unit w/remote in my previous car, and if the sun was shining bright, you'd have to stand directly behind the car, and point straight at the head unit, and even then it worked maybe only 75% of the time.

You could go the old fashioned way and just get a long stick to poke at the steering wheel

May not have been part of the original plan, but you may just have to take your wife/girlfriend (but not both) along with you. And then while she's up playing with the radio she can always get you another beer.

I wouldn't know about getting a remote....
no plans on bringing my sky to the Bronx for a good ol' tailgate
it's probably possible, hit up a local sound place that has a good rep, they won't yank your chain. But like mentioned earlier the sun may play a factor in how well it will work.

Haha - I dig the mail order brides and trunk monkey butler ideas...

Alas, I dont think the stock stereos have any RF sensor for a wireless remote so the prospect of adding one is probably not there.

Ya a remote is a must have for tailgating or just kicking back w/ your buddies drinking some brewskes outside your house.

I wonder if they make a universal remote for car stereos.....similar to the ones for TV's? I would assume not because my understanding is that the car stereos that do come w/ a remote have a built in sensor. Hence car stereos that dont come w/ a remote do not have that sensor built in.
