The color in the picture looks about like what I expected the Black Cherry CTS to look like. I've never seen one of those in person though.

I was leaning away from chili-pepper (right-me-a-ticket) red, but if Merlot looks as good in person as that picture makes it look like it should, I may have to give it some serious consideration. I wonder when the dealership will get their little magnetic paint samples for the new colors.

I really love this color and I tell you the picture really does not show the true color it is close but my goodness, in person that color was so much more. I would have loved to seen it in the sunshine! That would just BLOW ME AWAY

Yes, I was ready to trade my car in on the spot. It was the first thing I saw when I walked it, I did not know it was a sky, i just saw that color and I was like , no they did not. This color is the best color hands down. GM said the employees at the GM plant applauded when it came off the assembly line. If I could afford 2 cars, I would go out and buy one.

I know what you mean. I walked in the door and was talking to some people (no idea who), when I suddenly saw it over someone's shoulder. My jaw dropped and suddenly only the two of us were in the room. After a few seconds of staring, I managed to excuse myself before walking over almost in a trance.

Me likey. Me really really likey!

Merlot was a good looking color. I am anxious to see it in daylight. With the metallic flake in it, I suspect it might look a bit brighter in direct sun than it did indoors. Not that sun will detract from it, but it might not look as dark in a brighter environment.

The Carbon Flash special edition looked like a color that almost requires direct sunlight to me, in order to get the reflection from all the metallic in it. Inside, out of direct light, and from a distance, it looked a bit like a dusty or dirty black car... the "dirt and dust" being the metallic flake in the black paint. The stripe on it looked just right however, better than the Sol stripe package on the SSB special edition cars!

The GM ordering site is calling it "Ruby Red" (and the new blue is called "Evening Blue").

You can check it all out here...

I would have to see these new colors in person and on brite sunny day.. Right now, to me (being that I own a midniteblue already), that blue on that website looks better to me..but ah, I'll reserve judgement until I see one live.. Besides, iffen yawl gonna buy this new red sky, I would want something different..

MORE New colors

I can't wait to see these colors. The Merlot and Evening blue sound great! I also am looking forward to seeing the Inferno Orange (WOO HOO!!!!! ) on the Sky! I am curios since GM is calling the blue "Evening" which other blue is going to be coming that is called "Hydro Blue." I think it will be a brighter blue, maybe the "miata" blue mentioned?

Are the Orange and Blue only going to be special editions? Anyone know?

Thanks for the link. It's always fun to look at the options/ordering guide. Looks like really few changes for '09.

If I had the cash, I would along with a white one. Then I could be very patriotic with a red, white and blue Sky.

HERE IS A GREAT PHOTO.....and it's old!

Hey guys, ladies, this is the same red that was on the opel GT unveiled in europe. Go on the internet and search for opel unveiled, etc and you will see lutz standing next to one. I think I may be able to find one....here they are in our own threads:
