Car Key'd

My baby was key'd over the week in the garage of our "secure" building!!
I was on the road all week traveling for work to come home to see the only toy I have vandalized.
The building management could care a less, the cops just ran my plates and license to look for outstanding warrants. Hopefully the insurance co. has a little more sympathy for me.
They keyed it all the way around the car. The whole car will have to be repainted.
The deck lid got it the worst, with dozens of sratches in it. The hood is bad too, with scrathes right thru the 3M protectant.

I am a very very sad Sky Red Line owner.

Your emotions may be misplaced.
Rather than being a sad SKY owner you should be an angry resident of where you live. We escaped NY after theft/vandalism… never think about going back. Sorry… -J

Sorry to hear that. There are lots of envious people in the world who relish in such acts. These are the same people who not only destroy the property of others, but most likely suck money from every hard working citizen in the form or welfare or other government assistance.

Just to even things up I would post posters that your, "secure" building, Is "NOT SECURE". Something to the effect of "Do Not Park Your Car Here". Don't you just wish that your Sky had an electrical charge and the second the Jerk hit it with the key he got a jolt like a tazor, now that would even the score.

I am hoping the insurance is a least helpful and your baby is like new ASAP

Wow, that is terrible. You're not alone in your feelings. Most of us have worked hard and our Sky is the fruit of that hard labor. I for one can understand how violated you must feel. As others have said, there are jealous people in this world. When I first got my Sky and was tooling around town, one guy called me an ******* from the sidewalk...all I was doing was sitting at the light waiting for the light to turn. Later that same night, an SUV with a bunch of college kids were taunting me calling me "fag." Get your baby fixed and all will be well.

That is a cowardly move. I bet the SOB would not have the guts to even flip you the bird in person.

If I was you, I would make a positive out of a negative by painting a REALLY cool unique color......Like Candy Apple Red with Pearl White Strips. Or Peal White, with Candy Apple Red Strips!

At least if you have to have aftermarket paint, you might as well have a more unique SKY and be happy it happened to you in the long run!

Then I would park it in the same spot and Hide in a dark corner with a little surprise for the AHole that did it the first time.

Otherwise........I would never park in that same spot again!

Good luck in whatever you decide to do!

Thanks for all your support. It is assigned parking in our condo with no security cameras. Most of the time it is not even lighted. I ran into the property manager in the elevator and he just ignored me. Not even a "sorry". I told him he may as well go cancel our lease right now. Thank God we are just renting and did not choose to buy here.

Our move to Boston has been plagued with problems, this just adds to the list.

I am too sad right now to get angry.

I wonder if something like this: Car Camera with Car Power Adaptor, Dash Cam, Camera for your Car's Dash Board would have worked in your situation - not sure how well it works in low light - and of course you might need two of them to capture what is going on both in front of and behind the car.

Back in high school I had my 64 GTO parked outside a friends house and someone used a knife to puncture the right front tire on every car on the entire street. I do wonder if it was completely random or if someone was picking on my car (or me) and slashed the other tires to make it less obvious.

Some folks just have no clue - an no respect for other people or their property.

I was dating a girl a long while back and I got a tire knifed, most likely by a jealous ex.
My message back to him was "thanks for the free $140 tire. It was bald anyway, so I got two nice slicks for the rear and only had to pay for one. I have some some bad wiper scratches on the windshield, and could use a free paint job too. " the vandalism mysteriously stopped.

Hang in there Pauly. You're in a tough spot there. If that was me I would get a cheap car cover. And a motion alarm. The cheaper cover the better. So it will fit in the trunk during the day. When parked at night, the purpose of the cover isn't to protect the car, it's to ensure the vandal triggers the alarm.
He will lift it, thinking he's defeating your protection, then the real defense kicks in and the car alarm goes nuts.
