LOL On the floor and under the seat for a few weeks until they skip. In the glovebox (dash) I constantly snap a pizza slice out of the CDs when I close it while rummaging through for CDs while driving. Was considering an MP3 player solution myself actually. The Cd battle in the SKY is getting old. I'd have 6GB of music on a device 1/2 the size of a pack of smokes.

Celt , I imagine you have a holster or something stuck on the passenger side ?

I too use an MP3 player. Currently using a "Sansa" Clip (4 g) that is 2" by 1 1/2 inches. I have 450 of my favorite songs stored on it. No problem storing this puppy in the car.

I was using a non-skid pad that I cut to fit the flat area in front of the shifter.
The iPod has never slid off of it - even if I take a corner a little fast.
The pad is made of a jel-like material, is washable, and holds things in place really well.
But lately, I have been using the vent holder by Gomadic that I got for my GPS.

Cool. Sounds good. The forementioned waterfall idea doesn't work too well my shades scratch up the CDs and my arms are pretty long so reaching back there on the fly is suicide

Hmm.. I have some extra of that no-skid material, in black, from when my gal lined my kitchen drawers.
I'm looking right at it. Hmm...

I store mine loose in the driver's seat map pocket. No big deal if they get scratched up, I've got them all on my computer.

Sooner or later I'll stop being lazy and get the PAL setup for my iPods. I'm just too hooked on having the controls at my fingertips to start fumbling for the iPod at a traffic light. (I've got an iPod touch, zero tactile feedback means you have to stop and look to skip a track.)

I don't like CD's floating around in the car. Presently I have a PDA networked to a hardrive behind the seat. I carry at present about 125GB of lossless wma music and listen to what I want when I want. My CD's are for the most part in pristine condition and only get used once immediately after purchase. Then they are stored in case one of my databases crashes.

The PDA is mounted on a Proclip mount just to the right of the HVAC controls.

I put my CDs in the waterfall but i stack them in a 50pack cd spindle thing without the lid, works and fits great.
