Well it has finally happened. My passenger side cup holder on my 2009 has been pushed in toward the rear of the car. How do i remove the gear shift console on an automatic to get at this wonderful cup holder
this may be misinformation...but I believe you may have to take the dash off and then remove the console...it is easy but time consuming....but to remove the chrome plate, it does pry off...I have never removed that plate but it does pry up.
Yes...that is it...but I still believe to access that cupholder, you will have to remove the dash and then the silver console...just taking off the chrome plate, will not give you access...it has been so long since the forum members walked us through this...cannot recall. I tried to look in the search area...could not find the thread...maybe someone like Tomato Soup or Rob the Elder know this answer...like I said, it has been years.

BTW, my cup holder is also "acting" up.. I will need to "inspect" it in the future..
OR just eliminate it totally by buying DDM's new setup.. which is better and more functional..

Will you post a pic of your car with that installed...just want to see how it looks with all the piano black dash...I would never do that because my car is silver..but it would be interesting to see yours.
Also tell cjbeagle if he needs to remove the dash to get to that console...nothing like experiential learning.
