Obviously, in the future I'll try to avoid taking my car in for anything that's not a necessity, lest I end up with 5 new problems after taking it in for a broken cup holder or something like that, but I still think they're a better gamble than the other place.
Well I still sorta feel 'responsible' for your tribulations...FYI, when I go there for Sky service, even for just an oil change, only 1 tech works on it & is the only one "authorized" to touch my Sky,..PERIOD!!, THEY do honor these specific requests BTW, MAKE sure you INSIST on this and make it the LAW!!.. no ifs and or anything else. J works on my sky, I do not need to go back for anything, UNLESS he didn't have the part and they had to order it.... H2 techs are FORBIDDEN to work on my Sky---period!! FYI.. If J is not in the house, the Sky does NOT go in...period...

not at all. You recommended them based on your own experiences. I know perfectly well that is not any kind of guarantee of what kind of service I will get myself. Chances are, I would probably have ended up there on my own at some point anyway.

As for there being only 1 guy that works on your Sky, I guess I'm just a little shocked that at a dealership that size, there is only 1 person who can rotate the tires and change the oil and perform minor tasks like that on a Sky. It's not like a turbo repair or an engine rebuild.

You should not be shocked really. They only have 3 trained SKY techs from the factory, THOSE are the ONLY guys you want touching them, after all it is a special unique car... Just like I don't want a Sky tech working on my H2 (unless he is trained from the factory), I don't want the H2 techs working on my Sky, even to change the oil. Most in the back do not know what a "hockey puck is", I guess I found these things out by asking questions & by accident really since I knew a few of them over the years.. I'll bet you BIG money it was a non-Sky trained tech that damaged your Sky and Karen's side panels, which BTW were perfectly repaired by their GREAT body shop.. They just grab whatever tech is sitting on his ass when there is work to do.. Well as a customer, you DO have a choice on who can work on your car..It is sad for me however, that Albert is no longer there..Now I will hammer them so I can train a new "consultant"..
PS: Only J works on my Sky because he's there "high performance" specialist.. owns a supped up corvette AND knows how we feel about our cars and HE respects that..BIG time, so he is special IMO.. Very careful and methodical.. detail oriented etc etc.. I met him in person.. young guy, smart, has his own hockey pucks, and laughted at me when I asked if he had any--LOL, he pulls out four of them b 4 lifting my Sky..funny..

The auto body shop guy...Henry...he is awesome! He has fixed all the issues that the service shop has caused. He feels like the service department has messed up my car so many times...he goes out of his way to satisfy me. Wow where do I start: 1. they bent my frame during an oil change. 2. My top started to leak...they kept telling me it was fixed...on the 3d time I took it in for the leak...I sat in the car while they did a water (rain) test....the leak appeared within 5 minutes. On this visit they mis-aligned my top so bad...I could not shut my drivers door...had to enter through the passenger side for a week until my next day off. 3. This is the best of all....on two of these visits...they put two long scrathes in my car. Gets better...they ran my Sky through their car was wash...trying to duplicate the leak...the car wash scratched my car...I have @100 surface scratches on my Sky and two deep scratches that will have to be sanded down...that is why I turned them into the BBB. Shall I go on...one of their techs had some chemical on their hands....had to get that hand print buffed out of my car. I have more if you want me to go on.....

Wow!

Makes me wonder a bit if Saturn thought about the Service side of starting the SKY line. Face it, these cars are designed to be the new image for Saturn. They are bought by customers who not only want a Saturn to drive, but are passionate about the car. Passionate about keeping it clean. Passionate about keeping it running correctly. Passionate about all the little things most drivers take for granted. Face it. This is an ELITE car in the Saturn line. Yet, when it comes to service, it seems like it's treated like "just another SATURN".

If you're going to play with the big boys by producing an elite car, then you better ramp up the Service side to deliver an equal level of elite service. Based on what I've heard on this forum, finding a good Saturn tech is almost like a crap shoot. We do have a few who post on these boards, and I can hear the passion in their posts. But what of the corporate view? Is there a corporate Saturn push to address the unique difference in customer base brought by this particular vehicle? I don't think so. Hence, while we can relish in our first rate permagrin experience in driving our SATURN SKY, every trip to the the dealer is a crap shoot. Just another Saturn customer statistic in the Service bin and bay.

Sounds like typical American car stealership incompetence.
I never have dealer issues with my Audi. Top notch service AND a quality car.
Always had issues whether its Ford, Chevy and what other American cars I have owned.

Sorry for your pain.
