Oh, Barry, you poor thing. Resources, Barry, resources...or maybe outsourcing...take the dog to the groomer, get the kid next door to mow the grass, the trash is a 120 second job, drop the laundry at the cleaners (they'll not ruin her sweaters) and then run the Sky to the detailers and tell tales about how your wife bought you this car and you are a kept man. See? That gives you some time! And, if she says anything about the cost, total the hours it would have taken YOU to do it, multiply that times your "life rate" (what hours of your life is worth in work terms) and it will show a cost savings...then tell her there is the hedonics value of allowing you to destress to the extent that you felt like buying her roses, getting spiffed up AND...there was money left over to go out to dinner!!!!! And...you offer to selfessly drive so she can enjoy the scenery...Work with me Barry, I know what I am talking about.

For those who have followed my journey -- the first night I sat in the garage, in Sunni programming the radio and reading the Owners Manual, using the rickety cup holder for a Miller Genuine Draft (MGD actually means Mine! God Dammit!!)...
However for weeks -- I'd be in the kitchen and "have" to look into the garage just to see her again.... Listen to the tic of cooling metal and whiff her new car perfume...

I feel so ashamed. 30 years of marriage and I've never done this once to her. During the night I snuck out of bed and swapped the key on her fob to her Sky with the key to our Vue. This am when she went to her car to go to work.....the key wouldn't go into the ignition. As I watched thru the window, I could barely keep from peeing my pants. As she came in and said something was wrong w/ the ignition, "I said don't worry hun; I'll take care of it". Go ahead and take the Vue and I'll see what I can do before I go to work. I had tears in my eyes as she drove off.

I guess I should consider myself very lucky.
My wife is happy with her 06'Vue. She does not want to drive the Sky until it gets it's first ding.
So if I'm very careful where I park, etc., it will be all mine.

Ok , Ok . I will confess, my gf wants to drive the SKIPSKY so bad, but I told her she is not on the policy and it is only me that can drive it. It got me off the hook for at least 2 months now and I am going for four months....Skip..It's mine all mine and I do not share good.....

But I must confess to the following to cleanse my soul and I feel the kinship of this forum will help me get through this rough period in my life…

I have taken to buying milk in quart containers under the concern that it will be fresher that way. The fact that we need to go to the store, in the Sky of course, didn’t even enter my thought process.

...So you see I have a problem. I am beginning to think my wife believes I have a mistress but so far I can point to the odometer and she knows otherwise. I need help – no I don’t plan to stop – I just need more excuses.

Well the incredible healing power of this forum and the energy I received from all the contributions to this thread has brought a tear to my eyes…

As a result I believe I have now entered the next part of Sky ownership, the emotional phase. More specifically, no matter how bad a day I’m having, once I get into the Sky I’m all smiles – you know what they say “the worst day in a Sky is better than the best day without one!!!” I have also taken to feeling bad for all those guys with their dropped jaws staring from their sedans, with their car seated kids kicking the back of their seat (poor bastards, but now I have a better understand of the warning my Sky's passenger sun shade, they are talking about kids in the rear seats of other cars!!!).

Based upon the advise given in this thread I can now even be honest with my wife – I can honestly say that I just finished the last pint container of milk and we need more; the air in the tires IS stale and needs to be changed; running lights really do get hot and can be cooled down by rushing air (in fact the faster the rush of air the better).

So you see I am on the road to recovery and if others are being honest with themselves I’m confident they too will be able to share their experiences in this transformation. I owe a lot to everyone for helping me realize this part and deal with it like a man. Oh ya, the tear in my eyes are the result of extreme laughter – thanks for the ideas.

Signed, fast recovery expected but not as fast as my Sky.

She has already bamboozled your insurance agent into telling her the truth. She knows that if you give her permission, she is insured, the car is insured, and her coverage is secondary. One day, she'll just SPRING it on you.

Hi everyone..my name is Barry and I to am a Skyoholic. My addiction has led me to be unfaithful to a woman I dearly love..of 30 years. Recently I find myself covetting a new acquaintance...i know what the Bible says..but don't worry it's not my neighbor's wife ( she doesn't have her own teeth ). Happily driving Sunni to work this morning I stopped at a light waiting for the left turn arrow.... A couple of appreciative glances from other drivers, even a nod from one. Behind me in a 5 year old Caddy is a guy, most likely my age or a few younger. Wife sitting next to him. She is gabbing – really; the lips were actually blurred from rapid speech. She was brushing a CAT while talking. He stared ahead -- eyes opened a bit and he leaned forward (I knew he was checking out Sunni's butt). He had this haggard, "What The F&^K and I doing here" look on his face, but he stared at Sunni.
I have to admit it felt kind good to drive a Saturn as compared to that Caddy.

For you Barry, I have some suggested reading. It is a book I provided to my husband when I got mad at something I should have been legitimately mad about (because I say so) and he was all about this open-mouthed confusion. The book is by a neuropsychologist...it is called the Female Brain. It is a handbook for you men and you each should be grateful this doctor was born and wrote the only handbook I know on the market. You remind me of the intro on the inside flap which hands out this little tidbit which you have so eloquently proven...." A man thinks about sex once every 20 seconds" and this one, "In any given day, men use 7000 words while women use 20,000".
