I'm sure I'll have some things to contribute once we get our Redline, as it will be 'the wife's' car. At one point in time, she had threatened that I wouldn't get to drive it at all for the first month! Still working on her to not hold to that...
That is how it started for me and now listen to me, I'll even take out the trash at midnight to get a view of the Sky as I pass the garage.

Good luck, R1chy

Heh...trust me, that kind of stuff started a long time ago....Why you think I post on these boards so much? I'm always looking for pictures of SKYs. :P Oh, and we drive past a Saturn dealer pretty much everyday on the way home from work, so we're always craning our necks to see what color SKY they have in the show room that day.

Well maybe not, but hey....

I noticed the new Bugatti Veyron employs it's rear wing as an air brake when stopping at speeds above 120 mph (reported top speed is circa 250 mph). This got me thinking - could we use the Sky's trunk for the same function?

What do you-all think?

Well today I had to take Yellow Fever in to the doctors for a little work. It was the local Saturn dealer < Non-Supporting Dealer Information Removed by Moderator >

You would have thought I was giving away money when I drove in. All the sales people came up to me asking is this a Red Line? They still haven't received one.

< Non-Supporting Dealer Information Removed by Moderator > Don't run over each other getting there.

Long story short after answereing questions for about 20 minutes I finaly was able to go inside and get my workorder filled out. Then I was more questions. Man I felt like the great GRU with all the answeres.

Later today I stoped to buy a lottery ticket and saw swamped again. One guy after another kept comming up and wanting to what it was, and my reply was always "Yes it is a Saturn". Theres was Holly Cow what a fantistic car!! How much?

A very handsome man followed me off the Interstate today into a trendy Atlanta neighborhood. I had my top down. Have to love Georgia...top down on the day before Thanksgiving. He was in a Porsche...He pulled along side me and said, "That car is really great looking, and you look great driving it" I said thank you, and told him his car was pretty great too. Pretty good lifter on a day of spending 2 hours in traffic. My name is Christi, and yes, I am an addict.

Hi Christi, been a while since you last joined us in bearing our souls... speaking of which, we may need to pull Barry in from the cold, it has been a while since he has been in for a pit stop.

If I had a penny for each time... I even "sold" a guy on one in the dealership while the sales guy was in the back room finding a brochure.

No way on the former and I would try the later, but she won't get into the box - even tried putting coupons into the box, but she stopped reaching in when she caught me smiling with duck tape. So guess I'll have to live with my addiction.

Hey what happened to all those suggestions, I'm close to running out of ways to get "Driving Time" in the Sky.

Getting low...

Almost completely out of excuses, but given the cold weather I now can warm up the car for my bride. I might be starting to wear this one a little thin too since during my usual "warm up" spin around the block I seem to find many detours that she can't find later in the day.

Soooo, I'm looking for more excuses from the forum.

I'm so glad this thread is here. It is good to know that I'm not alone in this situation.

I've had my baby for almost 2 weeks now...

My S.O. and I work at the same school. I guess people keep asking her if she's gotten to drive it. After hearing the answer is no, I get the dumbfounded stares reeking of, "you meanie...you won't let her drive it???"

We were at her sister's house the other evening and "sister's fiance" wanted to go look at the car. He asked if it was open. It wasn't, so I pulled out the fob and clicked the "unlock" button. I caught hell for not just passing off the keys. Personally, I cannot even imagine handing the keys to my Sky off to a man who drives a beat up Ford Ranger with crappy brakes.

Buying the Sky has put a crimp in our relationship...one we will work through, in time...but if we can't, *grin* at least I'll be driving away in a yellow Sky

I suspect as others move from "want-to-be" to owner, then this thread will become more meaningful to them too.

I love my car and actually skipped some family events to spend time with my car with the top down during the unseasonably warm temps. No one understands but ya'll.

On Christmas Eve, I showed my grandmother a slideshow of my new nephew, but first she had to look at pics of my car. When my mother saw that I had pics of Grant that she didn't, she had me transfer them into her memory card for her.

Fifteen minutes later, she asked me for the Sky pics too so she'd have "pictures of both (her) grandchildren." I had to confess that I'd already slipped them in with the baby. She really needed to have them. She drives this:

Please don't judge too harshly. Mom is quite aware of the shame she has brought to the family.

ReedRed - you are soooo bad. I hope your Mom doesn't find your post, otherwise you may not get a home cooked meal for a long time.

I go outside to have a smoke and I find myself just staring at my Sky. I admire the curves and the angles of this car. My Sky is almost 8 months old and I have lost none of the perm -a-grin that I had the first time I saw it. Kind of hypnotic.

I swore I wasn't going to wash it Saturday ... too cold. But at about 11am I saw it was about 55 degrees, and not raining, so out I went. My husband, who had been outside all morning, already had the hose hooked up for me. He knows me and my sickness all too well.

That was 12/17/06

I've now owned the car for 4 months, 16 days, and just passed off the keys for the very first time. It's lawn day for me...I'm not using it. I keep thinking I should feel proud of myself for sharing so well (finally)...but alas...
