Converting Black Leather to Two Tone Leather INFO!!!

I checked into this a while back and this is what I found out...

To get all the parts to go from either Black Cloth or Black Leather to Red/Black Leather the total PARTS ONLY cost is right at $1,450 + Tax + Installation.

That price includes both door panels, both seat covers (top & bottom) and the Steering Wheel for the Red Conversion.

Keep in mind that I checked this price back when there was not a RedLine available so the RedLine ones may be more expensive.

Remember that if you want to go with Tan/Black Leather your price would be less since you do not need to get the Steering Wheel.

because the chilli pepper red sky doesnt come with this option...orrr someone might sjust change their mindd...in my case, as you already know...its #1

I wouldnt mind having a midnight blue with tan leather but a black top, thats what I really want, but cant do. I think the top would be cheaper than the leather tho (just talking the material, not the mechanics).

You may not remember but at the begining, the Red/Black Leather option was constrained for a long while and only a few lucky ones got to order them with that option. Now, those that wanted it that way in the first place can do this or those that want to customize their own SKY with OEM parts can do it...

You may want to consider contacting Katzkin- TheWise's car has a custom yellow and black interior from them. That may look a little better than the red, IMO.

that would look much better in your car than the red interior fkeillor...well thats my opinion but i think red and yellow kinda clash, but heyy its your car...SO HAVE FUN!

You guys must all be right because my wife argees with you. The other color I was thinking about was Blue. These would have to be custom made. Again my wife disagrees with me. So seeing that she is always right I guess i'll go for the Yellow

I have restored a couple of old cars in the past and you can get an auto upholstery house to take the center seat panels out and replace them with any color, or the whole seat for that matter. The side panels can be sprayed with a matching vinyl paint. When I restored a 1957 Thundrbird, the only dash available was powder blue and we sprayed it with a black vinyl paint to match the seats. The paint actually absorbs into the plastic material and does not peel. I was really surprised as to the quality.

Of course our friends in Canada (America's attic) do get to choose the Chili Pepper Red with Red/Black leather I believe.

Yepper, I just went to GM's Canadian site and built a Chili Pepper Red SKY with Red/Black interior and Tan top. Different.

Yes I have. But I also want to keep the Redline logo stiching in the seats. I'll just have to go to a shop and ask some questions. I you get the chanch I would love to see a pic of the your dealer has, if it's still there.
