It could have been worse......

My mom hit my car!
Its my Mom so of course I can't be mad! She hit it on accident backing out of the driveway( I was over for dinner). Fortunantly she only hit the side panel with the GM emblem and the the fron bumper and put a minor tiny little scratch on the rim. I mean you can barely see it. I sent it over to their insurance estimate office and they said that they would have to replace the rim. Well, they did and fortunantly it was the only part that had to be replaced. So I got to keep the rim! I now have a $602.00 rim sitting my closet The insurance guy was really cool with my keeping it. heres the damage, I'll ad more pics later of the after shots.

LOL... just kidding, When I got mine, I was so panicked about that, getting hit or swiped by anyone, one of my kids said if I were to hit his car, HE WOULD DISOWN ME.. lol... needless to say, I never let him drive mine. LOLOL... Yikes, You have a great attitude though, you are right, it could have been worse. I bet she feels bad. SkyBaby

I can only imagine how she'd feel... But your right, after all that parents do for us growing up, have to be easy on her for it.

As for selling the rim...I'd be leary, as with how people are now days, something could happen to the person using it on a car, and somehow some crooked lawyer would have you legally responsible for selling them defective equipment....even if disclosed...

Ah, what a wonderful society we have become...

I like that line... She did raise me.. Maybe next time i need a favor from one of mine.. i will just say..... GOSH..... I DID RAISE YOU.... wow... it sounds good, i wonder if it will work. Out of all my kids... only 2 would say that, the others would probably just balk or something. Your Mom is a very lucky woman. You made me smile.. Theyre are NICE children still.. LOL... all mine are out of the house.. and still i wonder somedays. SkyBaby

Looks pretty minor. Get a tire for the bad rima dn keep as a spare in case you get a flat. You can keep a plug kit in the car. Plug it just to get home and switch out.

Just remember, if you have a Redline do not buy the same tire because those tires are directional. Buy a standard radial for your spare.

Directional tires are only supposed to turn in one direction. They have to stay on the same side of the car. They often have arrows on the tire's sidewall to show the direction in which they should turn.
