Custom Painted Sky!!!

hey everyone my father, his employees and I just finished completing over 500 hours worth of work on restoring this sky. the car was in an accident and it was a complet total. While we were fixing it I came up with the idea for entering the vehicle in a contest. The contest required you use a specific candy color and basically make the car show quality. So we did. here is a couple of pictures what the car looks like[IMG][IMG][/IMG][/IMG][IMG][/IMG][IMG][/IMG][IMG][/IMG]

Flippin' sweet!

It's a restoration of a totaled Sky? Wonder who's car it was. Someone on the forum? Can we match it up to the VIN registry I've seen around here? If I had wrecked a Sky and saw it come back to life like THAT, I'd be amazed!

Very nice. As a painter I can truly appreciate the work that went into that. Nice job!

I love the painted and admire the work all around...that takes a lot of talent! However, I am not digging the hood. Definitely very skillful work there, and understand its for "Show", but a solid or slight variation of colors like the rest of the car would've made it look better in my opinion.

I have to say the 3D work on the side with the Mike Lavallee style Flame work coming from the side vents is JUST PLAIN SICK!! The hood is too colorful for me, if you kept it more in the red family, more moncromatic, it would have been better. But, AWESOME WORK...you have a hot SKY for sure .

Did you do the interior over??

Awsome, but I agree the hood is to busy for me too! Something more like the side design in reverse colors would have been better in my opinion, for what it's worth! But you guys did a fine job and should be proud of your work anyway! Hope to see it in person some day soon.

I disagree with Marlboromike on the rims, and would like to know where you got them?

Ron

Very nice job.

I think that the hood works fine. For a car like this Sky, since it is such a large tapestry for an artist to use, that when open is basically separate, creating a masterpiece is permissible. Since it is a show car and the hood will be open often, it's perfect.

Congrats on such a powerful rebuild!!!

I'm with xmicro, love the flames, not enamored of the hood. It's still a beautiful job, no matter how you look at it. Got to find me someone that can paint like that. The sides are just absolutely beautiful.

thanks everyone....yea i made the hood too cluttered, basically i had free realm to do what ever so i took the opportunity, we are planning on changing the hood design and rims, we just need some time and space in the shop. I would like to put the stock rims on them but in chrome and maybe a little bigger then 18's. thanks for the comments gentlemen.

Great art and that takes major talent but IMO that just doesnt look right on a car . I am thinking t-shirt or the side of a bridge in East LA
