Do they not train these people in DealerWorld?? As I have stated before, my dealer swears to me that I am still getting an 07. I have talked to the Sales Manager, the General Manager, and now the Finance Manager. Just today, the finance manager faxed me a print out of my order from DealerWorld. It plainly states on it "1100 - Preliminary Order Accepted". To them, this means that GM has accepted the order and will be building it. They can't tell me when, but they swear that this means GM will be building it. I have tried to tell them that my understanding is that an 1100 code simply means that the order has been accepted into the online system and has nothing to do with GM actually accepting the order for production. That would be a 2000 status.



They have told me that they already have taken 3 or 4 order for 2008's. It is going to piss me off if they finally admit that I won't be getting an 07 and then tell me that there are 4 people ahead of me for an 08. It kind of sucks living in a state where there are only 2 Saturn Dealers in the entire state.

They arent going to start making the 08 until end of june... when are you suppose to get yours? order already accepted? made? they may have one like you ordered and send you an 07 if there is one there.. matching what you wanted. Not sure... but am sure the 08 production dont start til end of june. SkyBaby

below is my 2007 build out thread. If your car isn't at 2000 for the 5/3/07 allocation you will not get an 2007 model. Unless you buy one off the lot.

2008 Startup Schedule

2008 Startup


The first allocation order cycle for 2008 is scheduled to start on May 24th.

2008 model production start up is scheduled for June 18th.

It is expected that the 2008 Order Guide will be available to dealerships on APril 2nd.

No major changes are expected for the 2008 Solstice.

Like the 2007 model year, there will continue to be two allocation groups for the Solstice, the base Solstice and the Solstice GXP. No word as of yeat how allocations will be based.

2007 Buildout Schedule

2007 Buildout

GM has established final order cutoff and plant build out dates for 2007 Solstice.

The final allocation order cycle is scheduled to start on May 3rd.

Buildout is scheduled for June 16th.

At this time there are no special notices of things that could be constrainted during build out. But that can change so keep watching the site and the site's weekly constraint thread.

Any order not allocated as a 2007, will have to be re-entered into VOMS or Order Workbench as a 2008, if desired.

There is no price protection for retail sold orders between years.

2007 Allocation is OVER!!!

Just so you know (in case you have not seen it yet or have not been paying attention)... The allocations for 2007 SKYs are 100% DONE!!!

No more 2007 SKYs will be built as of last weeks allocation (which I have not posted yet but I can say 545 SKY RedLines will be built for that last allocation)...

What does this means to you? If your SKY is still on order (preliminary status of 1100) you will NOT be getting a 2007 but rather a 2008 if you so choose to.

You may or MAY NOT be getting a call from your Retailer in the next few weeks to confirm your options since I have been told all 2007 SKYs still in preliminary status will need to be re-entered again one by one as 2008 models.

Some of you may like this, but some will not and the main reason is that your price protection just flew out the door. Price Protection is only good within the model year and doesn't carry out to a different model year.

Any questions? Ask them and I will do my best to answer as quickly as I can...

Thanks Kathy. I was well aware of this information. Unfortunately my dealer does not seem to be. As I have said, I am certain that I am not getting an 07, but my dealer keeps telling me that I am. The problem is that everytime I talk to them about changing my order into an 08 order, they tell me that I can't because my order is already on it's way.

I am correct that 1100 means nothing though, correct?

Oh yeah....they told me that they have never seen a status go 2000. They say that all their orders have gone from 1100 straight to 3300. Nothing in between.

You are correct. A order never goes from 1100 to 3300. It always goe to 2000 first. Tell your dealer to call DBC ( Dealer buiness Center) If they need the phone number pm me. They either don't know what they are talking about or are lying to you.

If I were you I would find another Dealer and put in a 2008 order. Try a digfferent State even if you have to fly and get it then drive it home.

I posted the info for anyone else who doesn't have the correct info. ( Last year they started the Solstice a week earlier then said.

Back in 2006 Kathy came through for so many of us who were dealer sour and about to walk ... but now are current happy owners.

She was the angle who pulled the thorn from my ....ah ... paw.

I finally got to speak to the General Manager again this afternoon. Just so that everyone knows, if you send an email complaint about about your dealer to Saturn via the Saturn website the dealer will hear about it.

Anyway, I spoke to the GM and here is his logic. If the order is in the system it will get built. He said he can't tell me when it will get built, but if it is in the system it will get built. He says that otherwise the order would have been rejected out of the system all together. I guess I can see his logic to a certain point. If he only takes 30 orders and in the course of a year gets 30 allocations, then to him it would appear that this is true. Unfortunately, I am order number 31.

He went into DealerWorld while he was on the phone with me and checked the status. He confirmed that my status is (as Kathy has confirmed) at 2051. He has promised me that he will make some calls and see for sure where my order stands (As if we don't already know) and get back to me. He also said that he would make sure that I was first in line for an 08 should we find out I am not getting an 07. He said that he already has 3 or 4 orders in the system but he gets to choose their order and he would make sure mine was placed ahead of the newer orders.

I am fine with an 08....I just wish I knew how much more they are going to cost. Not sure I would be willing to pay $35K for the same car that I would have paid $31K for in 07. Any idea when we will find out this information?
