Debris in Radiator Check yours

While servicing my Redline yesterday I found that the air dam is collecting alot of debris from the roadway and it is getting trapped in front of the radiator. If you look from the bottom of the car, you will see the opening behind the intercooler where the radiator pulls fresh air from the air dam.

Look up in front of the radiator and you will see a single tube with cooling fins in front of the radiator, reach around and above the fins. I found a fare amount of hay, grass and leaves have been accumulating there. You will not be able to see it, you will have to reach above the the single tubing to pull it out by hand. Probably something good to check occasionally.

It appears the air dam is a very effective street sweeper and the single tube with fins acts as a trap. I live in a rural area so those of you in the city may not have this problem.

I pulled a plastic bag out of that area on my 2.4 a couple of weeks ago.

Wow, I've been reading where some folks have problems with thier car running hot. I wonder if this could be the problem! It wouldn't hurt to check.
