The Diminishing Forum

As yall know , I do the Birthday greetings on Skyroadster.com, and have done this for a long time. I pick all these Birthdays from current members that have posted within the last month of the birthday that I am doing. I have noticed as I read through the Calendar that there is a whole slew of members that are no longer posting as of even three months ago. It is disheartning to see that these fine members have fallen by the way side and for whatever reason do not post anymore. I think in any given month there are at least half the Birthdays of actual current members. What is wrong here that members do not stay around to post and think long and hard how to get these people to at least post....what do yall be thinking of about this????...Skip....

With me I guess it has been that this forum has become "boring" & "stale". To many me me threads and to much personal crap that should NOT be on a car forum.. Also to me it has become a TMI by some of our "female" members for a place that is open to the world.. I will not name names. they know who they are, or they have their surrogates post for them..

With me tho, it is that it is getting old. I have been hanging out more in the other forums that I belong to, at least there, there is stimulating conversations on topic on relevant subjects.. Like here it should on the Sky, future runs, new members, not this person having surgery here or there, or all the different colors on the type and fonts etc etc.. There is too much sad and inappropriate posts and threads. This forum IMHO has lost its way skipper, seems lost without a rudder.. So yea, I have not posted as much as I would like, nothing to respond to. To many Me me me threads and posts, not us us.. what U think? OK now fire away.. I'm ready and frankly, IDGAS.. beer time BRB.. at least fer a little bit..before I'm bored again here..

Add me to the list of those falling off. I make a post that get's totally misconstrued by one of your glorious MODS and he/she deletes it without so much as a PM to me telling me what "they" perceive I did wrong.

So, BYE! I'm headed back to the "other" Sky forum.

That happens all the time, depends "who " complained, I usually blow it off, I keep coming back however, fortunately OR unfortunately this IS the best SKY forum there is, even you will agree with that..

I both agree and disagree with you. I absolutey agree that there are =some people that tend to over share, in which case I just ignore their threads. However, I also feel that when you know a lot of the members on the forum the quickest way to inform everyone of your health status is to post a thread. It is much easier than sending out 90 different emails, especially when you are not feeling well.

As a relatively new member I have to say I do like the forum but I enjoy the more personal side where I can chat and correspond with the people I have met on the runs. They are all really great people and they are what making coming on this forum fun. If I had to stick to technical information to be quite honest I would have nothing to say. Other than what does SVC Brake System on your DIC mean? How many times do you want to read about that?

I will admit, you have made excellent points. Perhaps you and I should and have further discussions to iron out any remaining issues that are not clear to me? Face to face would be nice. But yea, yapping about cars all day can be a very boring thing,..its the same problem I have on my H2 forum...

We have hot rods - but the thread gets locked down if we admit to going more than 6 miles over the speed limit. The sanctimonious, selfrighteous hypocrisy is disgusting. We (my household) drive the car the way it is meant to be driven, every day, him with no nannies, I leave them on some times. There is a reason this household goes through 12 or more tires a year. If we comported ourselves more like adults, had a nice little disclaimer as you come on, that there are adults, discussing adult matters (driving) I would comment more. Maybe someone had their SKY over 100 today. Maybe someone snookered a Scoobie getting off the highway. I really couldn’t give a rat’s rear end about some silly little caliper cover for wannabes. If you want to be seen in your car, fine, I would much rather be seen driving in my car. I find myself on the Volvo board over hubby’s shoulder. I even have a log-on there. The boys like it when I tell stories and occasionally post a picture or two. Ok, we have a pretty car. Is anyone out there doing anything with it? I boogied around 2 semis and a ½ dozen cars just at the interchange today. I am a girl! What are you men doing? If you put around with your car in “D” all day…we probably don't want to hear from you. If you know the benefits of “I” then you can chime in. Hubby has looked over my shoulder a few times while I am on, shakes his head, and calls us a bunch of old washer-women yentas. -Joyce

SKIP...an excellent thread. One observation which I have been trampled on..the repetitiveness of questions that have been sifted on by PLEBES...and the stupidity of many young members. When I say they r dumb and stupid...all i get is...the usual. Does that answer your question, partially.

If we could compare the questions then and the questions now...i guarantee...we were not as dumb. Of course, we always talked abstractly (no car at time)and abstract learning is the highest form of learning...Is that enough?!

Sure, do you want me to go in the SKY, or the lowered Volvo? -J

So instead of being a self-important little prick, why don't you look like the big man and have the answer? Maybe more people would post if it weren’t for you and your condescending bullsh!t. If we ever saw you in person I would want to kick you in your needle dick; my husband wouldn’t waste his time on you. Call me a PLEBE to my face, little man. -J
