The hardware for the top comes up through there when the top is up.

it allows the roof supports to travel up when the roof is in the up postion. Have a look around when your seated with the roof up sometime...

It lets air out of the trunk when closing the trunk. It's so air tight the top will not close if the air were trapped in the trunk.

I does help but the huge open vent above the license plate is a much larger vent for that purpose. The door is for wiring harnesses, supports etc to come up into the roof

That huge open vent has to be all of 5-6 square inches the vent flaps are approx 40 sq. in. I think the flaps are for the air release the little vent over the license helps air come in when the trunk opens

Main Function is absolutely support brackets, MAYBE secondary function is air release. But without those the top does NOT come up. This will be obvious if you put the top up and look back. Not an air vent as it's main function!

WHo is spinning what?

If someone asks you what a Belt is for, the answer is to hold up your pants. You can also say to clip a cell phone to, but that is not what it is there for, it is there to hold up your pants.....

NEVERMIND.... you missed the point, not worth arguing over!

I quote Robert DeNiro (another New Yorker) when I say,

"No, now you were a little out a line....you insulted him a little bit.......don't worry, drinks are on The HOUSE"
