Engine cover options?? (Cleaned up version)

The original version of this thread got a bit sidetracked, so we've moved the main discussion here.

The original thread with all of it's original posts is located here: Engine cover options?? (Original sidetracked version)

Engine cover options?? (Cleaned up version)

Are there any engine covers available yet for the Sky? I am really looking for a Carbon Fibre one, but cannot locate any except the one on Saturn Motorsports. Looks like you can't buy it individually? Any others out there?

Id like to find something new too... the grey is just so bleh... and if i painted it white to match the car it would ALWAYS be a mess... i thinking black with chrome or silver letters. But it would be nice to see some new options.

Actually I have a yellow w/ yellow engine cover and fuse box, wash the car once a week and wipe down in the engine bay, I live on a DIRT ROAD!, and my microfiber cloths show verrrry little dust on the two, I really don't think white would be nearly as much of a problem as you would think.

If you contact Saturn Motorsports, I believe that you'll find that they will sell the cover separately. I was "talking" to them last year about that very thing...but as their logo is embedded in the carbon fibre (and I have one of those other cars), I passed on the chance to buy it.

Depends on what they're painting it with. If they're using an automotive finish-grade urethane paint, then, no, that's not too much. If they're just going to Krylon spray bomb it, then, yes, that is a bit on the pricy side.

As you see in the Last Picture of Post #13 of this thread:

New shots of my car... with new items.

Custom Carbon Fibre Engine covers have been made. TodaresqSL2, has made that mod a while back.

Airbrushed Engine Covers

Joe at JPM designed an awesome engine cover and fuse box cover for my Sky. They are in the thread "A Little Time and A Lot of JPM". I don't know how
to cut, paste to link you. But I think you can find it easily. Believe me, the covers are awesome! I thought it was a dumb idea when Joe first suggested it, who looks under the hood, I thought. But, my son and husband thought it would be cool so I gave the go ahead. Wow! Talk about a unique addition. Joe
is a genius, he can come up with something awesome. You won't be disappinted.

Some Ideas for Engine/FuseBox

My son helped me. Here are the pictures of the engine cover/fuse box Joe at JPM did for me.

If you want to see the one Saturn Motorsports has look under Sky Products and then Sky Competition Header Package

But I think some of the paint ideas others have come up with are better.

Maybe a dumb question but.... How does the engine cover come off? I don't see any screws in plain sight... does it just pop off?
