I put the same hitch on my redline shortly after I got it back last July. I have a dual bike rack that I put on when I want to go out to the park and ride. I have never had any problems with either one.

I went to Uhaul in Newark, NJ and had it installed and actually needed an adapter which they had in stock. I have a lock on the adapter and also the rack.
They put in on within 2 hours, although I do have to go back tomorrow to have it cut a little more due to it rubbing on the exhaust/muffler.

Looks Great.

Thanks Guys for all the information.

Hope to have photos this weekend

I have the same hitch installed on my RL and have used it with one of those platform carriers. Because of the stock exhaust, I had the hitch cut out with a plasma cutter to clear the dual exhaust tailpipe on the one side. Since I have the manual trans though I get a rattle when starting out due to the tork of the engine flexing the pipes because the rear hangers only clear the hitch by about 1/8 inch on each side. If you have this area cut out also, it appears that you will further weaken the hitch structure which probably won't hurt anything as long as you are just using a bicycle carrier. If you plan on towing a trailer though it may not be a good idea to do more cutting on the hitch.
I used a heat resistant material on mine between the hitch and the hangers to buffer out most of the rattle.
Hope this helps,
Dave

Hi guys - when I had a trailer hitch put on my 2007 sky the dealer had to had a 7 inch extention to the tongue in order for it to clear the back up light. In anwser the the question about pulling a tent trailer the wife and I purchase a leesure lite tent trailer for it and it pulls just fine. The trailer does not extent out past the sides of the car and you can only see it in the rear view mirror. Also when towing the trailer with the top down the back draft is reduced as well. Now you see everyone's head turn as they pass and great comments in the camp grounds

Two weeks ago I had the Curt Hitch (Part #11119) and the Thule 2 bike carrier installed on my 2007 Sky Redline. I took the Hitch to a UHAUL hitch installer. Yes, It had to be modified (cut) a bit to keep off the exhaust and also had to get the extentsion for the hitch (Hitch Extender For 1-1/4 part #hes6) or for a 2" part #HE06. will have photos soon

Because of the duel exhaust you have to cut out a piece of the hitch so it will fit around the exhaust pipe. Put the driver side on first with just one bolt (loose) than the other side. You may have to use a little force on the passenger side. I just have to fine a longer receiver for it. The one that came with it doesn’t work (not long enough). The hitch will work on the base sky without any cutting on the hitch. Here are the pics.
I should have taken a closer look at what you had to do before ordering the hitch. I don't think I have the proper tools to cut metal that thick/hard. I don't suppose you have any measurements that I could bring to someone who does this sort of stuff for a living?

If you don't have a Redline no cutting is required. If you do have a Redline just have it cut to match the other side.

Has anyone noticed if this helped improve the handling of the sky due to it acting like a frame brace?
That could be an added bonus.

What is the weight of the small tent trailer that you use?
I have an Aliner Expedition which I pull with my Jeep.
I Know thats too heavy

Id actually like to get a smaller trailer.

I had a local machine shop cut it and it came out great! My hitch didn't come with the fish wire for some reason, so I had to make one out of some solid core electrical wire. It was also not much fun trying to drill a hole directly over the exhaust pipe. Other than that, the install was a breeze.

I managed to find a local shop that sold a 6" extender which brings the hitch almost even with the bumper and keeps the platform from touching the car.

Now if I could find a dual extender so I can hook up the platform and bike rack I'll be completely happy.
