Footwell lights / Glove Light?

Courtesy?

I’m looking to add some footwell lights / underdash lights – not "for show", but to see the floor, upon night entering and such.

I’m Thinking small old fashioned incandescent of some sort – perhaps old Guitar Amp jewel lights if they’re not too deep (cause I have them) – Also thinking of NOT LED’s for they may not want to work with the dimming feature – which I’d like to keep.

And so, I’m wondering how many others may have installed such a mod? – I’ve seen a few posts on neon installs & such where folks have either tapped into the mirror circuit and or some sort of C3 connector in the passenger foot well?? - Has that worked?

And has anyone installed a glove box light?? – Hadn’t had to install one of them since my 73 Pinto

thanks in advance,
joe

According to Ralph Nader 73 pintos gave off plenty of light when they blew up.

I'd like to try adding LEDs myself. Does anyone know if they will work with the dimmer?

LED dimming

I would think it should be possible to dim an LED - White Paper - Controlling LED Lighting Systems
integrating it into the car's existing systems may be a bit more complex.

or maybe you could use these instead: Compare Prices on Head Lights Flashlight Work Glasses (43 1300)

Thanks for the info.
I ordered 3 pairs of those glasses also, one for each car. They look like the glasses the Japanese guys were wearing in the "Cannonball Run" movie.

There's alot of good info on the Sol forum since they have been around longer. I am going to tackle this project too. Here is a thread I found on the subject.Glove Box Light - Pontiac Solstice Forum
