Sorry, I guess since I am gay, and those on this forum like our cars better than Miatas and thus see a Miata as maybe inferior...I don't see the humor, it's a little offensive. Like being gay is a bad thing, so you might as well drive a Miata. Don't get me wrong, I like humor, and there's been some ribbing of gays a bit on here that I can go along with, it's all in good fun, and I"ll assume this isn't meant in a mean way, but it's just not funny to me.
I'm not flaming anyone (pun intended...see, I do have a sense of humor  ) or upset about it, just stating another point of view!

Thanks! And I totally agree with and share your outlook, we are all different and when we're happy with ourselves that's what matters. We all must try to get along, and be a happy Sky family. If we were all exactly the same, life would be boring wouldn't it! I learn a lot from this forum, about our beautiful cars, about life and about people as well, so my comments on the pic were aimed at sharing a point of view in an open manner. I definitely don't lean to the side of being too politically correct, we have to be able to laugh at ourselves from time to time.
It's sometimes easy to take something written in the wrong way because we don't have immediate feedback or body language and such go gauge how it is being delivered/received like we do in person. If some want to get on my case about it, fair enough, we all have the right, but I'm not trying to make a big deal about it. Posts such as yours Sky 07 are a delight to see! OK, enough about me...consider this thread unhijacked.

No complaints about the weather except in July August. Mid 90's suck but it's not a bad now since I have a Sky to drive around in. I can't really compare NC to anywhere else since this is the only place I have ever lived...but I can tell you that A LOT of people are moving here. Good weather, southern hospitality, beaches on the east, mountains and ski resorts in the west, and good ole southern belles. I'm not leaving.
P.S. Please note that we do, on occasion, make fun of guys driving Miatas, Cavaliers, and Beetles, especially when they try to compare their car to our Skys  . I can make that joke because my wife used to have a lime green beetle and I had to drive it every now and then. |
