Gas smell!

Hello from Vegas! My girlfriend just bought a Saturn SKY and LOVES it! But the problem is there is sometimes a overwhelming smell of gas. In the garage and sometimes just in random. Can anyone offer any explinations and possible remedies please? Thank you in advance.

Welcome akaudia4 from Vegas! Have you run it by the dealer?

Welcome to our forum! I don't believe this a problem that should be ignored. Have it checked ASAP, if there's nothing wrong you won't be out anything.

Yep, get it into Service ASAP.
This is not normal.
Gas leaks are very dangerous.

In my case wife complains all the time of gas "fumes" in my garage.. BUT since the sky is not in the garage, it usually comes from 5 gallon fuel containers that I have for the emergency generator, OR from one of my fuels holding lawn equipment, you know, mower, edger, weed whacker etc etc..blower.. BUT if it in your case coming from the Sky, that MUST be addressed ASAP, pop the hood and make sure it is the culprit, check the ground under the car for leaks..fuel will leave a mark on the ground, pass your finger over any "dark" spots and smell it....

Did you find out what the problem was? My car is smelling obnoxious after getting it back from the recall. I just filled it up with gas and drove it home, and it about knocked me out. Seems worse when the air or recirculate is on, and especially if you get on the gas and turbo kicks in. I have not noticed any leaks from gas. First week back from dealer noticed a few drops of diff fluid on the floor, but they just filled it so it may have been filled a little high and vented off. Have not noticed any leaks in the last week. Watching it closely. This is really concerning me.
