Sky Vs. Solstice Gauges

At first I liked the Solstice Gauges a little better, but now as I look closer, It seems a bit too orangeee! Too Fast n Furious or pimped out slightly! Also, those first gauges that are shown next to the Solstices gauges that say only 120mph max are not from the new SKY. Now that I look at the interior as a whole the Sky is hotter, more sporty. hmm, Red vs tan. I still haven't found a piece anywhere on the Sky that i don't LOVE. their both cool cars, I just want something that makes my mouth water and makes me want to sleep in because i couldn't stand to be away from it for too long, anyhooo, im out

Slade, no those gauges at the top aren't from the sky, but from what I thought was the SS... later I was corrected with those gauges on the second page (which are much hotter)

I can understand the appeal of the Cobalt's gauge cluster it does look sporty. I have no problem with the current SKY configuration though. I will drive it awhile and if I find that I have a problem with them I am sure someone will have an aftermarket set for me to replace them with.

Personally on a car like that I'd like Oil Pressure, Battery Voltage and Temperature along with the Boost on the A-Pillar, with the Tac, Speed, and Gas in the cluster. If 4 can't fit on the A-Pillar cut out the battery voltage gauge.

Love those A-Pillar Gauges!

Interestingly enough, Saturn has decided to tone down the guage cluster as compared to the Solstice. One reason, the Saturn nameplate is not as performance oriented as the Pontiac moniker. Whatever the reason, don't expect anything too flashy from Saturn. The redline version will more than likely get an upgraded cluster with more color. If you have to have it, there are companies like APC that sell covers for that splash of color.

That sounds like a good idea but when the trooper stops you they can say ..."I saw you go from yellow to red on that last straightaway"

oh well.. guess they have a problem sometimes with stoplights then, especially some in tennessee where the red is on the bottom....I have seen them in middle tennessee like that... it was really weird... then the horizonal ones could be confusing if you have never seen one before and you are colorblind...

im colorblind. usually you can tell the difference because the green is brighter than the red. if nothing else, look around and see if you can make it through! here in ohio, ours are vertical so i only have that problem when i road trip.

I assure you up front I am not trying to be inflammatory, rude, and certainly not funny. I have a question of curiosity; does being color blind affect the color you chose for your SKY or does it matter what color you get? I understand some individuals with color blindness can see some colors and appreciate or favor them, is that the case with you?

no offense taken...

my favorite color has always been black. i cant tell you if its because i can see it right, or what, but because its my fav. color, ill be choosing black for the sky.

some of the other colors i can see fine, and others i cant, and because of that, i may not even like the green, yellow, (of course the yellow looks green to me) or the grey. silver and black have always done me well.

one time, i was about to buy a car and i had my gf at the time come to take a look at it and tell me what she thought. i was sure it was a real nice blue. when she came, she started laughing. apparently i almost purchased a pink car thinking it was blue. so yes, colorblindness can make a difference when picking colors for a car.

Thanks for the reply; I will leave you with a very small pun then. Continue making your selections with a "Seeing Eye purchaser." It will definitely keep you out of those pink cars. Take care.
