Gear Shift

I don't know if anyone else has this problem but I can't seem to get used to the fact that the gear shift knob seems to sit too high on the console and this feeels uncomfortable when I shift. It is almost like I wish the seat would be height adjustable so that I would be sitting higher then I presently am right now. Have anyone else felt the same way and if so what have you been able to do about it? Since getting the car about 3 month's ago used I have only driven it 4 times so I realize I don't have much seat time. I am 5'10" in height.

Unless you have one of the very early skys, you DO have a seat height adjuster.

Try looking for a little switch under your leg (I don't remember if it's on the left or right leg).

It's on the front of the seat, not the side.

The switch for the seat adjustment is under the left leg.

I just checked. There is no adjustment and the seat is almost sitting directly on the floor. I guess I am out of luck. Pretty frustrating unless the dealer could upgrade the seat?

The seat height adjuster was put into cars i believe 11/06. Open your driver side door and look at the sticker on the door sill. It should have your production month somewhere. I suspect yours may be prior to the seat height adjuster. If it is......the dealer COULD install it, but they won't do it free, and not exactly cheap. I can't remember the estimate that one member got months ago, but I think it was in the realm of $500

Wire harness

Depending on when the car was produced the seat height adjustment is possible (or easier) if the wiring harness is in place. There were some cas produced without the adjustment lever but had the wiring harness to accomidate the height adjustment. The very early cars produced did not have the height adjustment wiring harness.........................words from my dealership.

Good luck!
