GM Badge Removal

I want to remove the GM badgess from my car. I've heard from some that there will be a hole underneith be from others that there won't. Did they change the part from 07 to 08? If they did change the part, does anyone know the vin break?

Mine is a 07 no holes, I doubt they is a hole but just take some floss and gently go between the body and the badge. Should come right off. If there is a hole it would be the first time I've heard of one.

IMHO looks a lot better without them.

I work at GM and their just plastic stick on's . use a plastic trim stick pull firmly, and slowly. use rubbing alcohol to remove any remaining glue adhesive wont hurt paint at all.

I have an 08, the GM badges were the first to come off, no holes.

Badges? We don't need no stinking badges!

Just took all off my 08 RL. No holes.

Rear end looks kinda naked with that empty raised square. I'm going to dissect the Saturn badge, replace the red background plate with a thin sheet of brushed titanium, and put it back on.

Should look a bit like the steering wheel badge when finished. That is, subtle. That bright red badge clashed with my Chili Red.

LOL - removing the badges is great. Replacing them with something that makes EVERYONE go WTF is even better:

Still need to replace the grill with the Opel GT one; but now with the rest of the external badges removed - everyone looks and scratches their heads trying to figure out WTF I'm driving.

I don't think many people recognize the Opel badges here in the states... I'm sure those alone would confuse pretty much everyone!

yep, just some floss, gentle tugging, and either rubbing alcohol or acetone will take care of the glue left on the paint......however.......IMMEDIATELY wax that area when you take them off. The acohol or acetone will remove the wax and polish with the glue, so just a reminder.

Also helps if you do it on a warm day in the sun, makes the glue a little easier to get off.

The astute ones will look at the center of the wheels. It's not red, but it is Saturn.

Sounds like they will be coming off in the near future... though I think I'll stick with the floss and adhesive remover. Now I just need to get my leg back in working order...

Fishing line + plastic scraper (ie. for plaster) and WD40 = removed.

If not a hot day - use a hairdryer to heat-up the badge first.

A little Clear Coat Scratch polish (removes the residue, etc.) over the area + rewaxing and you're all set.

lol - yeppers - though I never am driving slowly enough for them to be noticed . I do still need to replace the wheels (Foose), the sill plates and the steering wheel hub too - but next will be 'performance' parts (and the stereo).
