Good mods gone bad -- going good

As many of us are, we are going to third party vendors for some of our mods. SKYs still are not too big and many trims, parts etc are not yet OTC.
I had liked a dash trim I saw while googling.
Well I went ahead got the 51 piece set and the door panels (no door switch - they have both!). I installed it all.
Pics = Went ahead and finished it
in the link you can see the finished project.
Well after just a few months the door panels and the rear storage cover showed an allargatoring of the finish, Shiny/dull pattern. To top it of the finish was coming OFF the door panels. Now the dash itself was perfect. But these three areas look like BARF.
Called the seller (who has a lifetime guarantee on carbon and real metal trim) after emailing some pics.
Bam -- they sounded concerned asked a few questions and will send replacements...

Who do you think I'm recommending?

I’ll keep all appraised

I’d show the pics of the bad stuff but I get ill looking at them

WOW Rick, that sucks, but at least you get a make good! My Red/Blk Carbon Fibre is still looking brand new. Our cars are a real test of a good dash kit because of all the direct sunlight. I hope all goes well and you get this back to normal soon.

PS - Is it Wood Dash Experts?

Went real -- I asked for a sample of both and felt the real is very close to the brushed metal in the car (and it is) --- luckily I did -- ready the warranty:
"Lifetime warranty on all aluminum, carbon fiber, and wood dash kits!! We utilize the highest quality materials including polyurethane finishing and 3m adhesive on each and every dash kit.. WHAT'S ON YOUR DASH?"

So the replacements are no problem.... To my way of thinking if I needed a section re cut the color match is easier too -- Aluminum is aluminum -- paint is well depends on the batch.

It good to hear there are some decent vendors out there.

I'm glad to hear that you took you time and did your research. I hope this works out for you!

No they did not want samples. The best way I can describe it is if you look at brushed aluminum (pretty much the center button on the steering wheel) it should have a dull, brushed look. Well on the two door sides and the rear storage door and trim the finish is "alligator" kinda like a camouflage set up and it is shiny/dull. In addition where my hot, sweaty arm sits on the drivers door trim the finish wore off!! Now if it were metal (even very, very thin) you'd think it would last more than 3 months.
But the guys at Edashkit.com were cool, just asked what I used to clean (damp microfibre) and warned me not to use abrasives.
They sent the new parts (the Storage door and the cup holder face are not here yet) and I will install. I am thinking I may have to cover the rim where I put my arm as the sweat and friction could wear away the finish.... We shall see - Perhaps I'll put a clear cover on it (Like contact paper)....
