No - even though I KNOW where that thing is - it is still a pain to get hold of just the right spot.

No, try finding it while you are outside the car reaching in. You are not the only one.

It's okay to have the door open when you pop the hood... just make sure the door is shut when you close the hood!

Now everyone drop you hood

Make sure the doors are shut and don't slam it down just drop away, takes a little practice to correctly open and close that hood
I get to keep in practice all 3 of our sport cars have reverse open hoods or in the Sunbeam Alpine aka Bonnet. We were warned on the corvette that pushing down on the corners to make it latch would seriously damage the hood, similar to dropping the hood with the doors open on the Sky. Ahh the joy of a roadster/sport/British cars

You can have the door open or closed when you open or close the hood.... Jut don't have it partially open or closed.
The threat is when the hood opens/closes with a partially opened car door (Center notch)

I felt a little weary when my first dealer didn't even know how to open the hood of it last year in march when I first went to look at one. Needles to say I didn't return to that dealer.

Now I am under my hood at least once a week doing something checking something and taking care of my baby
