The car just turned over 60k. I realize what I would be losing in selling the car.
And knowing people where I am going is important to maintaining the car. I can't take tools with me, I would be totally dependent on dealerships working on my car if problems arose.
Every base I've been to has an auto-hobby shop. You pay something like $4/hr to rent a stall with or without a lift. They have tools (free to use), and usually a mechanic or two that can help you. Most places even have stuff to mount and balance tires

The auto hobby shop on Keesler is one of the better ones that I've seen in the Air Force. I was able to do my own springs there. They have pretty much any tool you'll need. $8 an hr for a stall w/ a lift.

Sounds like a plan to me. Here in San Diego the Hobby shop has 9 bays with free tools use, they do springs and have mechanics to help with any questions you might have. $3 an hr for the lift.
