I was so Embarrassed!

Took my Redline Sky in for the new spark plugs today since my Vin was a before on the service bulletin posted. A big Thank You to the person that posted it So when the sky service tech removed my cover to get too the old plugs a mouse nest, OMG yes mice had chewed on the insulation and were trying to make my Sky their home The service manager came and found me and wanted me to see the rats nest so if any green wires were chewed on I would agree to have it fixed. The good news is no wires were damaged just the insulation gnawed on The service tech says the mice only gnaw on the green wires, why is a mystery Called hubby to vent, reminded him his corvette sets just 4 feet from my Sky
I put moth balls under the sky for tonight but a serious eradication of vermin's will commence ASAP I did clean out my tailpipes and filled up the gas tank resetting the MPG economy so time will tell if it runs cleaner and gets better MPG.

Yes I drive it!

Sky is almost a year old was born the second week of October 2006, got the car mid November and it has 7,700 miles on it, so at least once a week on sunny days some weeks every day to work 60 miles round trip! Now the Corvette will be 2 years old and it has just under 10,000 miles so it sets for weeks at a time because I put over 6,000 miles on it the first year before I got the Sky, wonder what is nesting under its hood!

Hmm. Well, ok, then maybe a new marketing angle. "And vermin like it too!"

A couple years ago the mileage in my year-old 4Runner went in the crapper and it just didn't seem to have the same oopmh I'd gotten used to from the 260HP V6. I took it in for a warranty check. The shop called and told me they'd cleaned several pounds of peanuts out of the air intake. It seems that an industrious chipmunk had been stealing them from the bag in the garage (I feed them to the squirrels) and storing them up.

I had a rat living on the engine of my Focus. I got some rat poison and put it under the car. Day 1 (Saturday)...pack not opened. Day 2 (Sunday)...pack not opened. Day 3 (Monday) as I pull out to go to work...pack is GONE!

"Where did it go", I thought. Then it hit me..."Oh ****"! I stopped the car, popped the hood, and sure enough...that bugger had taken the entire pack up to the top of my engine, opened it, and pretty much scattered rat poison all over the place. And these little morsels aren't the anti-coagulant kind, but I fine out they are nerve agents. Fine in solid form...but I wonder what kind of effect they would have once fried on an hot engine.

I am afraid to park my car in my dads garage this winter now, in fear for rodents. How do you prevent this from happening?

I'm a pest control guy in St. Louis. The best thing you can do is place some mouse bait in the garage. It could be as simple as getting a few packs of D-Con and placing them around the garage. I would put one on either side of the garage door. If you are worried about kids or pets you can also puchase a "bait station" which is a heavy duty plastic station that locks to place mouse bait in. That is what we have to use as pros.

Hmmm Snakes

I thought about getting a snake to rid my second garage of mice, but Skybaby how to I keep it out of the Sky?
We have 4 cats and I think they need to start earning their keep, I spend lots of money on commercial cat food, one of our cats is older and has lost many teeth so snaggle tooth will be the only one excused from mouse duty!
I used this available mouse catching plan in the house garage and we did catch a couple of mice, then the moth balls in the Sunbeam Alpine seemed to detour the ones that got away.

I will just bring the Grandsons cat to ya.... he just plays with them though... and then brings them to me when he is done. He has no front claws but I let him out and he goes out behind the barn and brings them home to me..... LOL....... how bout..... I think it is called goldenmarlin.. it is a fly thing.. but, critters cant help but love the taste... if your cats DONT GO IN THE GARAGE.... or any of your PETS.... it will get them... but.... ok now.. dont freak out... dont be surprised if you go into the garage and find the mice with their heads still in the bowl! it works.. LIGHTNING FAST... ahhh... DISCLAIMER.... THIS INFORMATION IS JUST THAT... SOME INFORMATION I WAS TOLD..... ......... SkyBaby

By Vin number

The service bulletin was by the cars Vin number so all those built before and right after the shut down in October to the point when they switched the plugs at the plant. This is just for the Redline or GXP's turbo's. I did not have the foul plugs or starting problems but lots of soot in the tail pipes, without removing the cover and looking to see which plugs I had no ideal till the bulletin confirmed that my car did not have the correct spark plugs. Since its not a recall the only other way it would of been under warranty is if it would of stalled and not started and Saturn Dealer would of had to tow it in. I got the OnStar monthly reviews and mine had NEVER thrown a code. Just lucky I guess for a lot of Redlines this stalling has been a major problem.

Just keep feeding the mouse, sky will get much fast with the additional 1 mouse power or for addtional power add more mice.Very cheap mod. They will multiply by themselves and will probably produce enough to do the hubby's vette at the same time.

Doing Research

Victor Company seems to be the leader is building a better mouse trap. So I am off to K-mart that carries all the array of traps and a sonic deterrent the is suppose to drive the little varmints out of the garage. My house cats are to fat and lazy and spoiled be several weeks of starvation before they would bother to catch dinner
