I just made the purchase the other day and so far I'm loving it. The only issue I have with it so far is the clear film that is on the trunk lid. The two pieces are dirty and have bubbles in them. I'm not sure if that is something just put on from the factory to protect the paint when shipping or what?
I'm looking for a little insight on them. If they do actually server a purpose and protect the convertible top from scratching the paint, is there any place that sells them so I can get a new set?
Also one other question, my taillights had condensation in them last night. I took it to the dealer and the guy told me something about a dual pane light (something like that) he said when there is a rapid change in temperature you might see some condensation in the taillights but when it heats up again it goes away. Sounds fishy to me, but it did go away the next day so maybe he 's right haha.
all of your issues right now...can be brought back to your dealership. That condensation on your tail lights is not good.....they should fix that..
I never had that condensation on my tail lights.....or head lights...
Thanks I'm loving it so far. I traded my 07 Ford Mustang for it. While the Mustang had more power and cost about the same price I feel so much different driving the sky. I think it's the fact that everyone looks at you and thinks you're rich or something like that. When in a Mustang they just think ehh it's just a Mustang.

That's the issue though there are a few bubbles and dirt under the plastic. It really takes away from the car I think. The few people I've showed the car to have all commented on them. I don't think it would be anything that is covered under warranty. I don't mind buying a new set i just have no idea what their called or where to find them.

The clear film is permanent. It prevents the top buttresses from scratching the paint. Should not have bubbles in them. They get dirty if not part of the wash detail plan.

Tail light condensation is normal. Standing water in the enclosure is NOT normal.

The 3M film should be there, its not just for pre-delivery packing type of stuff.
Saturn can replace the film....they replaced mine 4 or 5 times.

Condensation is normal, especially with the way GM has the tail lights manufactured. They issued a corporate service bulletin regarding them and headlight assemblies as to what was considered normal.
But like Bogie pointed out, standing water inside either assembly is not normal.
Oh, and congrats on the new ride!

I have an 07 silver sky production number 5505. I'm the 2nd owner of the car and got a great deal on it. The first owner put a whopping 22 miles on the car in 2 years. I guess the economy got to him or something I have no idea.
So far the forums seem very knowledgeable and I've been able to find questions to all my questions. I'm looking forward to going to some meets it looks like a blast. I love seeing the look on peoples faces when they see one sky driving down the road I can imagine like 50 of them.

Haha yes I am, I'm the famous blackberry programmer. This is the first time I've been recognized on another forum, I've only been recognized in real life. They don't know who I am usually but they have my applications on their phone and I'm like hmm I developed that. Always makes for an interesting chat.

Okay good to know. A few cars in the past had this issue but when the condensation got in there was no fixing it unless you drilled a hole into the housing and let the lights sit in the garage until it dried up. Then you would have to put silicone in the hole to prevent it again. This was only a temporary fix though and it would come back.

Yeah I can't wait. I see there is an October event planned in Fl that I will more then likely go to. The one in Virginia looks so much larger though. It's a 10 hour hike up there but I think I might have to make the trip.
