loud "clunk" in rear of car as it cools down
I have a 2007 Sky, and every time I turn off the engine after running it for awhile, a minute or two later I hear a "clunk" in the rear of the car. If you remember the old steel gas cans that would expand if they were in the sun and make a similar sound. It sounds just like that. So my initial thought that it was the fuel tank, maybe a bad fuel cap that was not venting properly, so I asked the local Chevy dealer about that. He said it was probably the muffler cooling down, and said the Chevy vans do that all the time too. Can anybody confirm this is the case? I have never had another vehicle make that sound.
