although I don't like what they've done to that Sky, even if I could have afforded a vette I still wouldn't have bought one. The Sky is much more unique looking...at least for the time being.

Have Both and the Sky WINS!

The Corvette is the American Dream Sports Car and with that comes the price, style and status. For the money the Sky is everything the Corvette was 50 years ago before it reached it’s icon status. What was the concept behind the first Corvette to have an American sports car like the British roadsters that all the GI's were driving in Europe. The Corvette was to compete against the MG's, Austin Healy's, Sunbeam's Jag's and every convertible fast fun car that was being imported to the USA. Yes we won the race with the Corvette it is the first and best of the Sport Cars America can make. The Sky and Sol just did what GM wanted knock the newer import 2-seat convertible’s aka Miata & S2000 off it's soap box as an affordable fun car. I like our Corvette and its a blast to drive but for the money the Sky is my pick. Corvette is to much of a high performance car for me, I just want the fun open feel I do not have to drive a car that won all those racing trophy's that the Corvette racing team brings home. Will the Sky and Sol take away some of the Ford Mustang sales? It’s the only other American long standing fun convertible competition, even if it seats 4 passengers. I do like being on the cutting edge and having a car that will change the way America drives, just like the first Corvette owners did some 50 years ago!
One big perk and lets remember this one, the Sky car insurance is a WHOLE lot less then the Corvette and that all has to do with STATUS and engine power.

As an owner of both a Vette and a Sky RL, the Sky has a shorter rear end that dramatically changes the performance and handling features. These are very different experiences. The Vette is also evolving into a luxury sports car, which, again, is a very different driving experience than the Sky. My Sky RL is much more of a pure "in your face" sports car experience.

i havent had the pleasure of driving a rl yet... i need an alternative to make up the power in mine. i wanna go with a supercharger but options are still very limited. i like the feel of n/a power, i had a wrx with turbo upgrades and im not a big fan of turbo lag.

What seat problem? We had the recall on the hard top, comes delaminated. Dealer fixed it but with the 3-phase Daytona Sunset Orange paint even after 3-attempts is NOT a perfect match. No car is perfect not even the Corvette!

Must be the difference between a 06 vette and owning a 04 vette - and according to the insurance I drive the vette and hubby is the primary driver on the Sky - LOL it's just the opposite!
We also told the insurance that we never drive the sport cars to work - yea right, OK technically I drive it to work and THEN to the car show!
