My Sky is Finally Gone

Well, after the long adventure with Saturn my sky is finally gone. All the paperwork was completed today and they now own the car. Thanks to everyone on the forum for moral support. I wish all of you the best of luck with your cars.

Well i found somone i knew to repair the fender for very cheap. I figured it was worth it for me to have it fixed and get it over with. I did get stiffed about 70 bucks since a new billing cycle went through and GM already had the checks printed from the previous billing cycle of my auto loan. Gm has said if i fax them the reciept for the SKY car cover i bought that now seems to be obsolete due to a design flaw they will reimburse me for the cover. All in all working with Saturn wasn't a bad experience after i contacted the BBB and they decided to settle. For all those interested in how it worked out with Lemon law. I paid exactly 281 dollars for having the car. In Pennsylvania you pay the lesser of 10% off the purchase price or 10 cents a mile from your furst visit. Now we all know i had problems since day 1 with the car stalling but i figured 281 bucks was a small price to pay and went with it.

I liked the car and i think i got a good ride for 11 months. I can't see myself buying one of these again in the near future as my opinion has changed alot on the fit and finish of these vehicles.

Thanks Mike. Not blame me tho if i turn the key and the roof or anything else instantaneously breaks.

I'm on my new mission for finding a new ride. So many choices, so few liked, even less that are affordable.

I think you did the right thing by just getting the hole fixed and letting them have it back than going through alot of legal troubles like some had suggested. It's too bad that GM hadn't gotten all the bugs worked out before the cars were launched, or even after more than a year of Solstice production. I just hope my rearend doesn't go away! Isn't this supposed to have the same rear end of the last generation CTS? If so, Are CTS's having diff problems?

As far as new rides, you should also look at the '08 CTS, sweet ride!

I think I'm going to take a break from GM this time. I've only ever owned GM vehicles and i think it's time to give another brand a shot. The CTS is nice but Im more of a coupe kinda guy. (2doors)

Pitcom, I know the feeling trying to decide the next car, you sound like you want the same thing I do, 2 seater, reliable, and power and around 30k.

here is my short list you might like:
2001 Porsche 911 (hardtop)
2001 BMW M Roadster
2003+ Nissan 350Z
2004+ Infiniti G35

I am not a fan of front wheel drive, or all wheel drive cars and they had to have 2 seats and be in the 30k range.

I have seen some 2005 Vettes showing up with LOW miles for around $37, don't know if I want to increase my purchase price from $30 to $37k just for another Vette.

Good luck and let us know which car you find and give us a review compared to the Redline.

Well i took the new G37 Coupe out from Infiniti for a test drive. It's steering didn't even come close to the sky and it felt like a dog when you floored it. For 47k fully loaded its definately on the list of not worth it.

I'm taking a 350z Nismo out for a test drive and will report on how that handles.

I think i'm gonna get myself a pickup truck for the time being until A) I build myself a garage and buy a vette or B) take my chances with another 1st yr car and see if the camaro is what i hope it to be.

I have no exp with the sky yet but I have driven the Z your talking about... to me it felt like a slug. Not enough pep it was very "laggy" if you know what i mean. No feeling in the wheel either. IMHO but who knows maybe it will fit for you! Good luck!

"Knowledge is power". Having driven a 'Red Line' you know handling and power boost. By considering used, you many be able to afford a Bugatti Veyron 164! http://www.edmunds.com/bugatti/veyro...006/index.html

Or, consider taking over someone's lease who got 'down sized' or getting divorced(www.takemypayments.com or www.leasetrade.com)

I so enjoy the hunt ... even if it is for a car! Have fun "Pitcom" and hope see you on a cruise ... ya ... in a 'Bugatti Veyron' would be nice!

Glad you finally got this resolved without blood being spilled OR lawyers--yuck!, sounds like pretty fair settlement also. Check out the GMC pickups daughter has one and has not had 1 single problem with it--I know I know it's a GM, but you & I know GMC is not Saturn--

So sorry that the car didn't work out for you. Glad you didn't have to go a lengthy legal process to end it.

Yeah i like the avatar too, it made me laugh when i saw it. Truth be told I loved the way the sky drove and I am going to have a hard time finding something that is going to be comparable.
