New Car Cover for SPIRIT

I just purchased a WeatherShield Car Cover from KappaSphere to protect SPIRIT when I want to keep her clean. And since I just got her washed and waxed today (more on that later) and she has a big date this weekend I wanted to keep her dust-free in the mean time. And so I busted the car cover out of the box and put it on while SPIRIT sat in the parking lot at work so she can stay all clean and pretty.

When ordering the cover from KappaSphere I saw that you could order the two-color cover for just a couple of bucks more so I figured "why not?!" and so I ordered it in SPIRIT's two favorite colors. The fit seems excellent. And there is even a label saying which end of the cover is the front. Now SPIRIT should remain triple-F (feline footprint-free) while in the garage!

Before and after pictures below. The cover is in place with the top down (SPIRIT's top is almost ALWAYS down.) I will take some pics with the top up later.

Your cover looks great, I wish I would have got one. I bought the GM car cover which I do like but am not using at this time per GM instructions. I got my letter from them this week saying not to use the cover until it can be replaced. I wish they would replace it with the Kappasphere cover you got I really like the 2 tone. I thought you had a GM cover also John do you use that on Baby?

I, too, bought the WeatherShield Car Cover and it fits so snug and nice. I have the gray, because Lizzy is Silver Pearl. Not as flashy as JohnD's, but it works great! In fact, the reason I got mine was due to my upcoming road trip. Lizzy hasn't been out of the garage since she was presented to me. I am leary of having her sit out at hotels, etc. Now she demands a lot of attention, but I thought the drabber cover would not call attention to her in any parking lot. Hope my theory works! I already washed the cover...and the lettering telling me it is the front is gone. Or maybe I'm just blind, but don't think so. Now the only problem is finding room for it on my trip! I know, put it in the extended trunk!
I LOVE MY SKY!!!!

Yeah, the GM cover went with BABY to Florida. The Silver Pearl won't show micro-scratches like the Black Onyx would. If they offer to send a replacement then that would go with BABY too, of course.

SPIRIT is happy now...

Have the same cover and although we do not put it on while in the garage it is on while at work. One thing I have found is the cover will lift off the car if there is sufficient wind like we have been having here in SoCal in the afternoons. Co workers have had to gather it up off the ground the other day and shove it into the floor area of the car to keep it from blowing away.

Fixed the problem with taking a couple of my small lead shot bags (about 1 lbs) that go into my boyancy compensator for scuba diving, and attached a cheap clip to each bag with an electrical zip tie, then attach the weighted bags to the holes in the cover located at the bottom (these are the holes in the cover that are for attaching a locking cable). Bags unclip very easily and no more cover blowing off with higher winds--stays put.

By the way, if you are concerned about your cover being stolen I feel the locking cable is almost a waste of money given you could cut out the grommet at the attaching point and a thief is down the road. On the cover for my GMC Sierra I stenciled the license plate number on the front and back so it would be of less value to a thief, but realize someone could mark this out as well.

If someone wants your fairly expensive cover they can get it, but given there are so few Sky's/Solstice on the road I would not think it would be that great a target.

That cover is definitely a eye catcher, but Spirit is too! Hope it doesn't attrack the wrong attention! I think it is perfect for how you are using it, though, nice choice. The two tone cover is SHARP!
