New member - Recently purchased a 2008 Sky Redline

I also have some fraying on my top on the drivers side. I keep meaning to look into fixing it but haven't had a chance yet. If you have the dealer take care of it, let me know what they do (adjust the top, adjust the window, etc...). I've been avoiding making it worse by just keeping the window slightly down from the fully up position.

Techno Grey is what I was wanting to buy!! Though I got such a great deal on my '09 Black Redline that I couldn't pass it up. Congrats on the car. I know you will love her once you get past these initial trials. I know I love mine!!

Based on what I read in the below referenced thread, I adjusted the bolt and was able to get the top tightened up and it no longer contacts the window, even with it in the fully up position. I did have to make quite a few more turns than the suggested two, it was more like 5 or 6 full turns. I suppose over the years the top stretches out and needs tightening.

I would still be curious to know if your dealership decides to adjust the window, or to follow the procedure that is outlined in the bulletin.

I have another thread on the progress of the dealership.. I appreciate that link because it looks like I will need to do it myself.

The dealership is saying adjustments like that are not covered under the Certified Preowned bumper to bumper warranty. (which is pretty terrible in my opinion)

No problem. There are many helpful posts on this forum for the do-it-yourself mechanic but a disappointing number that just instruct one to "take it to the dealer." I could take the car to Opel, but I am much more interested in fixing it right the first time and saving thousands of Euros in the process. In my experience the dealership service center causes more problems than they solve.

It took me a while to find that thread, but I found it very helpful. I had it fixed up in under 10 minutes.
