I thought maybe I would get my antenna today, but I didn’t. I guess it hasn’t been that long. I ordered it September 20th, from gmpartsdirect. I am hoping for it on Monday.

Ordered mine on the 19th & got notice yesterday that it was shipped on the 28th and should be here on the 5th.
So yours should be coming sometime in the same time frame.

It's really easy to install. Just unscrew your current antenna where it screws into the base piece on the fender (you may need pliers to get it started), then screw your new one onto the threaded nub that is still on base that is left on the car. Takes about 1 minute to do

It took mine about three weeks to arrive. As has been stated, the installation takes about a minute, the upgrade looks great and the reception is the same as far as I can tell.

Ok, I will try to install it myself. (Being a girl and all.) Husband won't touch the car. He say's if he ruins something on my car, he will have to hear me whining until it gets fixed. I guess he still remembers how I reacted when my car got hit (in the rear). I guess I was hard to live with. I am sure you guys can relate. If we’re not happy, your not happy is how it works. Soooooo, I will just do it myself. I sure it can be that hard. Thanks for the directions. I will use them when I have to install the antenna.

I got mine on Friday and it is no problem to install.

And yes, it does look way better. It looks like this is the one that should be on this car! It;s a perfect fit!

The stock antenna has two flat spots at the base so you can put a wrench on it and unscrew it. You can go and unscrew your old one to see how it comes off.

You can just screw it back on again.

The new antenna does not have flat spots for a wrench so you need to use pliers or something to get it really tight so someone can't just take it off by hand!

I put a rag under the pliers so as not to damage the plastic part and just tightened it as best I could.

If you can turn a screw, you should have no problem installing it.

The car has the male stud and the antenna has the female threads.

Jayman, Don't get everyone in an up roar! You know how it works on this forum. It doesn’t take much to get everyone going... At least you amuse most of us, most of the time..... I'll let you know how I make out putting on this antenna. If I have any problems I am sure to want the list of caveman you know.

Yeah -
This gal will also be installing her own & not just because I would whine if my husband hurt my car (which I would) but he is out of town on biz for a while.
He also has no clue that I have ordered it and I am not telling him - I will just see how long it takes him to notice it when he gets home.

It isn't very difficult at all. When placing the new antenna, use a silicone or rubber jar opener"cloth" to give your hand a little extra grip. No pliers are really needed for the install.

Dealer loved it

I took my car to the dealership Saturday to show them the Opel GT antenna... They said it looked alot better, and said that was the number one complaint about the looks of the Sky.. I gave him the part number and he was going to see about stocking them for use on the Skys they sell...

If you can change a lightbulb then you can change an antenna.

Unscrew the old antenna (lefty-loosey, righty-tighty). Then, screw on the new one. Next, wipe sweat from forehead.

I just ordered mine. Who-da-thunk a silly antenna could add so much.
