The warranty was from an outside company that contracts with the dealer.
Update: I got the car back and overheating problem seems resolved. Driven in all kinds of cold weather with the heat on. Temps seem to running a bit higher than before (198-205 range) but never have exceeded 220 which I am told is the temp to start getting concerned. They installed both check valves, replaced a hose, replaced the thermotat for good measure and bled the lines. After disputing labor fees my bill was $128. Can't really complain about the final outcome, just the process getting there.
