I placed my Redline order on 12.07.2006. A fitting 54th birthday present to myself. I am being told at this time maybe del in Sept. and she will be a 2008. I went with the Graphite and solid black leather interior and the chrome 18" wheels, manual shift.

Again, I am new to the forum so, be gentle.

I would appreciate any/all news and info anyone here might have in regards my purchase. I have owned many cars in my time on this planet, will post some pic's at a later date. I am a retired GM worker here in Balto, Md.

I have had my SKY since June 16, 2006 (obviously NOT a R/L!). I bought it as a Fathers day gift to myself... I turned 56 in August.

So you are not in a minority, however, you will find SKY owners of all ages, likes and dislikes. You Have owners who want to keep the SKY stock, you have modifiers (Modders), racers, you name it -- the ideas, creativity and openness here may knock you down!

For information -- one of the best things to use is SEARCH. The tab is right above third from the right. Type in what you want to know (EG: graphite pictures) and you will be inundated with choices.... But the info and or pictures will be there!

Have fun and keep us appraised of your journey!

Oh and GO BEARS!!

Welcome Vettesky! Btw, did you work at the mini-van plant? We used to run field trips up there from the school I worked in at that time. Once you get your car you def. will have to join us for some driving and lunches.

Welcome to the forum. Like RickTP, I got my Sky in June 06. I ordered in April and was told maybe Sept delivery. The dealer called me on June 6 and said they had a Sky that a buyer decided not buy. It was almost the exact car I had ordered, so I drove it home that afternoon. Most people have a much longer wait than I did, but hey, you can dream.

Hello. I'm new, too. Started lurking in November but didn't post until we ordered our Sky on Dec.18th. Our dealer in Concord, NC, swears we will have our 2007 RL by March. We'll see. My better half wanted to get one that was produced during the first year they came out, but after reading the "Who feels the Sky will be worth something down the road?" thread, I don't know that it will matter a whole lot--not during my lifetime anyway.

Maybe you'll be the first one on the forum to get a 2008. I can't wait to see what improvements they'll have. What fun!

Oh, and "Go Panthers" (oh, that's right, they suck this year and aren't going to the playoffs--) Still a loyal fan, though.

Have fun reading everything on the forum. These folks are really funny, brutally honest, opinionated, considerate (most of the time), and informative.

Welcome and congrats! We too, are in line for the first 2008 RL from our dealer. Until then, we have our base Sky to keep us content.

It will be interesting to track the progress of our 08's as they go through the allocation/build process...wonder who will get theirs first?

First of all welcome!

If it's information you are looking for you have come to the right place. A kind of crazy place

; but a great group of folks. I don't think there is any other source where you could find a wider range of facts, opinions and lively

discussion about this little roadster than here on this forum.

I am 52 and have wanted a roadster ever since selling my Jaguar XKE twenty years ago. It will be nice having a great looking roadster that I can actually drive somewhere without breaking down.

As for your wait, I placed my order in November and was told that I might have to wait up to a year. Now my car is being built next week (or so they say) with delivery happening sometime in February. So who knows, maybe with some luck you might have it in time for Summer. I'll keep my fingers crossed for ya.

Meanwhile during your wait, enjoy the company of the great people here on this forum as I have for the past eight months. I guarantee you will laugh, cry, be amazed, and learn a lot! Once again, welcome!

Welcome to the forum. This will be a long and frustrating wait for you. Hang in there as long as you can. The wait will be well worth it. I ordered my Redline in July and went through all of the emotions associated with waiting. Finally gave up and snagged a Redline in early December 800 miles from my home and drove it back. I have had Perma-grin ever since.

Thanks for all the replies, this is indeed the place for me to wait it out, and stay, after I take delivery.

Yes I worked at the van plant here in Baltimore and...When I was in high school (about a thousand years ago)they too took us on a tour of the plant. My class walked out with a Carter 4brl carb, a 4-speed shifter w/linkage and half a dozen other articles. The line workers were throwing the stuff at us. When we returned to school, we placed all of it on our teachers desk, of course he went ballistic at first, then just cracked up laughing, he let us keep everything. I guess he surely couldn't return it.

On another subject, I had a ticket for the Ravens game Sunday, but gave it to my niece as a X-Mas gift, as she just happens to be a big Buffalo fan. This way my brother could go with his daughter, with both being dressed to the hilt in opposing team colors.

My brother and I are RAVEN Lunatics!!!!!!!!!

Well... That's enough for now, Anyone here want to bring me up to speed on my avatar? I tried several times, never got there.
