Key on, engine off, push the gas to the floor 3 times. That's not in the book, but it works.

Send a message via AIM to ggccg
Two ways:

By the Book

1. Turn the ignition to run, with the engine off.

2. Press the information and reset buttons on the DIC at the same time to enter the personalization menu.

3. Press the information button to scroll through the menu until the display shows OIL-LIFE RESET.

4. Press the reset button until the DIC shows ACKNOWLEDGED.

5. Turn the key to lock.

Alternate Way:

1. turn the key so the control panels light up,

2. scroll down through the read outs to the "oil Life"

3. push the gas pedel down 3 times and hold it.

The "oil life" reading will go back to 100%.

Whenever you have a question about an oil life reset button, you can check with your local Jiffy Lube. They have a book that covers almost every car.

Turn key to on engine not running, set DIC to oil life, depress gas three times and hold, it will go to 100% in one second. By far the fastest method to reset. This is not a joke I did it last week after the new engine was installed and it works fine.

I have to tell u guys something...I did call Ernest...he walked me through the steps...it did not work...I call ON STAR...they put me through to technical support..they call my saturn dealer who puts them on hold...do I need to go on...even technical support does not know what they r doing...during this time I am going through the manual...following the directions...and yes, I can follow written directions...it does not work...at this time, I am going into my garage and doing the gas pedal instructions...if I am lucky, I will start the car and be carbon monoxided to death...all BLUESTONE owners...u may get lucky...

By the way, thanks for the instructions...here I go...

You guys/gals are the best...the gas pedal worked. The oil change at the dealership cost me 50 dollars including tax for Mobil 1. New Jersey tax is 7%.

Your dealer did the oil change and did not reset it?

They probably didn't know how to do it....... remember, it's not the senior techs that are doing oil changes....

I'll change my own oil, thank you very much... Best investment I every made was a set of jackstands and a floor jack. Gives you an opportunity to see what you have run over......
