People love to park next to my Sky

I've taken my Sky to several Department Stores or Grocery Stores. Most lots are pretty big with plenty of spaces. I don't mind parking in a spot away from the dings and bumps of everyday parking spaces. I need the exercise, so the extra walk does me some good too.

About half the time when I do this, someone will park next to me. Plenty of spaces all around...several closer and free all around. But for some reason, they gotta part next to my Sky. This isn't a matter of the lot filling up and thinning out. Nope, they just decide to park next to my Sky sitting out there all alone. I can't figure if they're just admiring the Sky, or if they're just being an ass.

People parking cars are like cows in a field, the herd hates to see a car all by itself.......

Yea I would not mind, and would understand, if it was another "Kappa" car or up scale vehicle ... but they seems mostly to be dinged up, rusty, unpolished sad sack junkers.

It must be the beauty of the Sky that attracts. Same as a georgeous looking woman at a party attracts men. Maybe people who do that think the beauty will rub off on to them.

I also park well away from the rest for obvious reasons, and one of the reasons is that when I get out of the store, I get to walk a fair distance toward my Sky, admiring it's curves and shapes all the way. Except that half the time, I find a huge vehicle completely hiding my baby which gives me an uneasy feeling until I finally catch a glimpse. It turns what could be a pleasurable experience into an anxiety filled experience.

I parked the other day way out and a Thunderbird parked next to me. Two cars about 20 spots away from all others. It was the "drop top" parking area I guess...

I tend to park far away also, but what I don't do is the "park sideways to take 3 spaces" move.

Not only is that excessively rude, but I think it attracts the very same jerks that you are trying to avoid.

You're absolutely right. If I do have to park next to another vehicle, I do try to park next to something that looks nice assuming/hoping that the person cares about cars enough not to hit mine. I avoid parking next to SUVs and minivans as much as possible, not only for their big doors, but also because it seems many of them care little about others' vehicles.
