Personalized License Plates

Hey all! I am fairly new here and was just looking through the site and realized a lot of people have personalized licenses. This is a thread for you to talk about your plates, why you chose the personalization you did, and what you think would be cool suggestions for personalized plates...

My Sky is Midnight Blue and my daughter called it Sapphire Blue-
so when I was trying to get a plate approved - I tried several different things - including different spelling versions of sapphire and Saffyre is the one that got approved.

DMV Agh!

You pick 6 different tags or messages on the chosen color background and what ever one is not being used is the one you get. So its a surprise when it comes in the mail 6-8 weeks later. SKY2RUN was not my first, second, or even third choice but I like it!

Mine is quite obvious as well. V8 SKY

In Michigan, you request the specific plate you want, and can test it on their website. No lists, no surprises.

I had to make a few calls, since mine was in a reserved format (for amateur radio operators), but they let me have it....

Atleast you found one not taken in Okla. I sent in two different forms (12 choices) and I still got stuck with nothing. I ended up with the OU personalized plate but it would have been nice to have my own message. I couldnt think of anything else and ran out of ideas

Ya' know... it's funny. My wife and I had the same reaction to the color and have been playing on the word "saphire" for a while... we'll see what happens. My wife suggested since my nicname is "sap" (hence 'sapman') that we try for "sap fire". Still reads "saphire" but the true meaning behind it would be as stated.

My preferred spelling was SAIFIR (Irish for sapphire) but it was already taken.

BTW - you can just ignore that seanfhear Jayman.
