Pics of New tires/ rims on my sky

I brought this forward due to all the questions about winter tires and wheels and how they handle. A lot of people dont use the search function.

I think they would look better if they didn't have all that white stuff all over the tread.

They look smaller than stock. I'm guessing those are your snow tires/wheels for the winter months?

Only because you asked I will give my honest opinion... I think the rims look terrible... they look very cheap. I'm hoping that this is a temporary thing for the bad weather.

Of course they are for bad weather. I just got a similar setup. I have five spoke wheels, but they are nothing fancy. 17" are recommended for winter tires.

Spending about a grand for tires/rims is a good investment for a cold climate. Hopefully they keep the Sky on the road a little better.

Getting better rims is a gamble because how they would get chewed up by salt and chunks of ice. Best just to put the plain rims on it and pray for Spring.

It certainly isn't obvious by what he said that they are only for the bad weather... all he said was, "what do you think".

To answer all the questions yes they are only for bad weather and they were rather cheap a total of about $650 for tires and wheels combined mounted and balanced, They are Firestone Winterforce Tires and yes they are studded tires. I couldn't make it up a hill last week and slidding backwards just isn't much fun. here is the set up

215/65/R16 Winterforce Tires
mounted on a 16x7 discounttire.com rim
The tires were $74 studded
and the rims were $65

Theys dun don't no bout them thar sno tyres down south o' that thar Mason-Dixon line.

It kinda looks like you are trying to bring back the wide oval. But I understand very well the need for a meaty snow tire on that car, having lived up yonder here in Wi - scon - sin my whole life. You southerners come visit sometime:

1) I'll show you how to drive in snow, then I'll show you how much fun it can be.
2) I'll let you shovel out my driveway too like my buddy from FL who was like, "Can I shovel the snow??" ( no kidding )

The hill that I climb to get to my house is pretty steep here in Canyon Lake, Tx. I wonder if I should get them as well. O, I see they are for snow.

For those that would seriously be looking into winter wheels for the SKY, any one seen some good looking rims?

I'd thought about a set of the saturn 5 spokes they put on the ION QC or Sedan, or something like that. Provided they are the same lug pattern.

EDIT - Forget the ION rims, they are a 4 lug, SKY has a 5 lug. sorry...

These wheels were all my options for my winter tires but since I was only using them for bad weather I chose cost over everything
these rims range from 16-19 inch
