Can anyone see if I show up as having voted? I can't seem to vote, it says I already voted, but I don't see my user name in the results...

kappaman,

Thanks for making it sticky thread.
But the poll result do not function correctly. It shows only one vote all the time.
The Solstic poll result work fine.
Would you find out what's wrong?

my vote was for the soft top to be easily removed. i dont really need the hard top to store in the trunk, but it would be nice to use the hard top in the winter without having the added weight of the soft top too.

as to the hard top, i would love to have it be one solid piece of tinted plexi-glass or whatever they would need to use. that way, we wouldnt have to have that huge blind spot behind the shoulder.

but i doubt saturn would do that for us. that may have to be an aftermarket thing. anyone know where we could get some made for us?

I'm having the exact same problem. And it shows I voted for an item I dind't ote for on the Solstice forums.

What I've said on this topic is I want a hard top. I want it to be the color of the car. I want the soft top to be easily removable so I can store it in the garage, but I don't want the hard top to go in the trunk. I just want to be able to remove it and be able to store it in my garage when I want to replace it with the soft top.

Saturn wont be making anything like this, but I'm betting we'll get one from GM Accessories though. The Miata has a removable hardtop accessory, as does the MR2 (get it imported from Japan though), the S2000, and the Porsche Boxster. All of these are made by the manufacturer, and color matched.

The availability of a hard top could be a really good reason the SEMA Solstice has never been shown. It would also line up with what the rep told me when I asked them about it. I was told they didn't want to show the SEMA car as to not confuse buyers with it and the normal Solstice before the car goes on sale. If that SEMA Solstice had a GM Accessories hard top on it I could completely understand that. They wouldn't want people thinking the Solstice came as a hard top coupe, when it's actually a hard top addon.

It was supposed to have been shown at the last SEMA. It was listed on the media.gm.com website as going to be there. But then it never showed up. So I'm guessing if it really exists, we'll see it once the Solstice is announced.

I voted for a tinted glass hardtop, as well as being able to store it in the trunk... i think that would rock as a hard top, because you'd be able to see all around you (basically).. although I don't think I'd utilize being able to store it in the trunk so much, it'd be great for long trips in the fall/winter/spring seasons. If you brought your car to a glass shop, do you think they'd be able to come up with something that would work? (That is, if it isn't produced)

if you took it to a glass shop to custom make, expect to pay a few grand for it. someone on our site may be able to do a fiberglass top with a glass rear window for cheaper (prolly me, i guess) but even that would run about $800.

Hey there is not a choice I would choose on this poll. I would only want a hard top if it was a power convertible. I'm too small to be taking something off and on........

hmm, i wouldn't mind paying $800 for it... it would be awesome for the winter, although I dunno how much i'm gonna be driving this car in the winter, lol. That'd actually be about $1500 for me, cause I live up here in Canada then I gotta get it shipped, as well...

Hey I wouldn't worry by the time the SKY gets introduced the Canadian dollar will be at par with us!

A pimped out Buick, huh? Hrmmm....

Personally, I like the look of the removable hard top (in general) more than a top-up convertible. I like having something solid over my head when I choose to be covered. If I've ridden a motorcycle in the rain enough times to appreciate having something solid overhead. That, and I'm not too attached to the AFF-Butts just yet. LOL

I suppose the final product (which we may not see for another year or so) will probably be well executed and not look like a total afterthought. *hoping*

Gotta have a hard top

Gotta have a hard top so we can race this thing on the track. I have a hardtop for my miata and it totally changes the car when it is on.

If they put a hard top on this, the price would go up another $5,000 - $10,000. Think about it
