so im coming back from work tonight and stop at a gas station to get a vitamin water and i come back out and some girl in a car comes up to me and asked if she could take a picture with my car so im like sure i guess lol so she gives me her camera phone and i take her picture next to my car. then her three friends get out of there car and want pictures to. long story short i was at the gas station for about 10 minutes taking pictures of 4 random girls next to my car. before i leave they say nice porsche lol i LOVE this car!!!

Lol, Similar story for me today too.

I was getting fuel as well and an older Gentleman came back and commented on my car. I thanked him, and we talked for a moment about it. At the end he said,

"well, I suppose I'd better move along...some day I'll get a corvette too"

I smiled and shook his hand...and thought to myself.. "Corvette?"

While on a Kappa run we were all gathered having breakfast in South Lake Tahoe, as I was leaving the restaurant the group of people eating and looking out the window at all the Sky's and Sol's said "Look its a Viper Club"!!

Right after I got "Lil Ruthie" my wife and I took at trip up to Seneca Lake. We stopped for Breakfast near Watkins Glen and three older guys did a walk around of my Sky and then came in arguing with each other "I'm telling you, that's one of them new Shelby Cobra's".

i actually like how people think its a vette, viper, porsche, batmobile (lol), whatever. because its such a nice car to look at people think its expensive. doesnt bother me none. in fact i think its a compliment to be compared to those type of cars

Not in my Sky but a good story none-the-less.

We had a foreign exchange student in my school who like to hang out with my "group." My group generally went bowling, partied on the weekends, blew up random things, movies, etc. Well one weekend we were going to the movies and had an overflow of two that couldn't fit in the truck so I hopped in the 'vette and asked who wanted to come along. It ended up being Sophie

Half way through the ride after a little bit of playing (parking lot) and enjoying the top off cruise, she asks, "So is this a Porsche or a Ferrari?"

I nearly wrecked. Apparently they haven't really even heard of Chevrolet, much less a Corvette and as far as she knew the only cars that went that fast were the exotics.

Gave me a good laugh.

Actually I nicknamed my Sky after my departed Mother.

In her day when I was still a kid many of her friends and family use to call her "Lead-Foot Ruthie" because of her driving habits, as she aged they changed it to "Little Ruthie" after she put on a few pounds. Don't get me wrong she was never really grossly over-weight but as she slowed down a little it became more appropriate for the times.

She, her brother and her father played country music and sang many times together in the early years at family outings and local events. Her brother once wrote a song and the long version title was something like? "Lil Ruthie, She's one Red-Hot, Lead Footed, Drivin' Mama"

Thought it was only appropriate to name my car after her.

haha thats such a cool story, i have no clue what i'll call my car, i never had aname for any of my other cars... hmm ill probably call it what every the first person says " is taht a _________ (fill in the blank)?"

I parked right behind a Ferrari F430 Spyder in front of Bonds Fine Cigars in N.N. VA. A customer came into the smoking lounge and said "Check out those Ferrari's out there", plural. I almost spit out my Punch. I wish I would have had my camera though, because it's the first time I have had the oppertunity to park next to an exotic for comparison.

Anyways, I teach band at a high school in Phoenix. I'm starting to get kids coming back from the summer showing up at the band room and asking about the car. NO JOKE...the guys think it is stupid and the girls all want to ride in it. I actually had a girl today ask if she could borrow it for prom...in two years when she can go.

The car is a chick magnet...just not the proper ones

If you're not a sports car aficionado, the SKY does have lines very similar to an F430.

Oh, and to the untrained eye without anything relative for comparison, 0 to 60 in 5.5 looks the same as 0 to 60 in 4.5. So not only does it "look" like an F430 sitting idle, it looks like an F430 when coming up to freeway speeds. It doesn't sound like an F430, but again, the sound is the realm of the sports aficionado.
