ragtop inner liner

Hi Everyone,

We purchased a solstice for the wife, and of course it does not have the inner ragtop liner and is quite a bit louder. My questions are; has anyone purchased just the liner and installed themselves? It looks pretty straight forward and also where to find the liner?

you may want to look on e bay. I once saw it on sale there...but u would be wiser to purchase a new one and save yourself much work...of course it will be more expensive...try looking at junk yards for any year SKYS...they all had liners from day one.

One other thing...if u get a top off a SKY or Solstice..it would be wise to get the entire frame of the top. Otherwise, u will wish you had.

There was a thread - maybe on Solstice Forum - about someone who did this. It's possible, but not easy. Try google search.

The acoustic liner was an option on the Sol. My GXP came without one.

Shreve on the Sol forum installed his on his Sol and posted a how to thread on the Sol forum. It is doable but NOT easy. The canvas cover is glued and revited to the frame. It needs to be removed to install the liner.

Not easy, thus not inexpensive to get it done right.
May as well get a whole new top.

I was quoted $400 to $500 to install one in my car and that was all labor

Thanks for the input, guess i will price out what having it done by a shop if it is below a thousand bucks. At least if it isn't done right i have someone to b@@ich at.
