Apparently... we're not all that interesting of a read.

I check the book section each trip to that wal-mart.

They have not sold too many copies of that book. :P

Well, maybe they sold so many that they had to order more

Suppose 1960s Soviet and American space probes had revealed life on Venus and Mars. Suppose that this newly discovered life took forms, from Homo sapiens to Neanderthal to dinosaur, that seemed less a product of independent evolution than evidence of an alien presence on both worlds ... and on Earth as well. Suppose further that the two planets resembled, to an unlikely degree, the Mars and Venus of the science fantasies of Edgar Rice Burroughs and other early pulp authors. And finally, suppose the Soviets and the Americans transferred their Cold War hostility from Vietnam and the Middle East to a space race that, by 1988, had resulted in manned bases on Venus and a competition for control of that planet's resources and the loyalty of its human and quasi-human inhabitants.

Such are the tantalizing suppositions behind The Sky People, the first book in S.M. Stirling's Lords of Creation series, most of which takes place on Venus...
Hmmm, sounds like the Sky People are aliens from another planet. I always thought there was something off about you guys...
